Unfortunately, I saw and was given bad info yesterday, so I missed the 4100 leading L565. Today we made chase with it trailing the CN 2285. Still, a merger is consistent, and the 2285 won't be around on this job long. The other 2 jeeps the Dubuque locals normally have are broken. That leaves an oddball consist for the jobs out of Dubuque, as they need 4-axle power to service Rentec in East Dubuque. Here the afternoon L565 climbs out of the Dubuque River Valley past Julien with cars bound for Cedar Rapids and customers on the Dubuque Sub. This is the 1st IANR unit to escape IANR property to work on CN.

Given that UP tossed me a couple 1 by 1 intermodals at least they put a nice clean leader on this one! (and the bright K Line boxes don't hurt either). 3/26/16
Had to go into town this morning to buy some more milk and a loaf of bread. If I'd had half a chance, I'd have stayed at home. Still very humid and muggy here. Although we do now have a slight breeze - heavenly.
Saw this amazing flower in a public flowerbed, it was the only flower still in bloom.

Ridden past this tree so many times. After some random rain a puddle had formed, giving a nice reflection. Glad to have finally given this tree the time of day.
Given that I will be limited in the number of interesting things I can photograph while I'm not able to walk and explore, I've decided to intersperse pics of upstate New York in its fall glory with random photos from my last six months when I was flickr free.
These will be from the three places I lived during that time - Avignon, France, where I spent a month last April, plus Arizona and Indonesia where I was the rest of the time.
This shot is from a small village in Provence in the late afternoon light. Rousillon is one of the most picturesque villages in France, with all the buildings made from some variation of the local rust-colored rock and clay.
I'd given up on photographing these little birds as they were as thick as flies but this one landed right in front of me as I was sitting staking out a dam.

So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Given the weaather forecast I'd gone to the beach with the intent of taking some moody b&w images. But I was blessed with some gorgeous light.
I think the sun had already set when I took this pic.
That right there is some of the best skies I've ever shot, those bright colors streaking across the sky, something only a sunrise could give (a sundown gives more pink and red).
For those who do not remember my story from the other Iverson post, allow me to reiterate. Earlier in my photo career, before DirtyGlassEye, I was given a task to get 5 separate photos, all at a different time of day, and in a different location. I tried hard not to rely on Hood as my subject cause 1. It wasn't out a whole lot this season, 2. Everyone else does that here.
I arrived at the tulip fields when it was still dark and set up shop at the edge of the blooming fields (they change the pad locations every year to keep the soil pure, or at least that's what I've heard). It was around 40-50 degrees, a little chilly, but just the way I like it. If you're in the Pacific Northwest and don't like the cold then what ya doin here at all?
Anyways, I combed the rows for a bit before I found this pink John Deer which would be a great subject. So I setup and waited. Now that I think about it, I should've brought a foldable chair, fortunately the ground was dry and not muddy, it's been a little while since it last rained.
After about an hour the sky started to light up, with the sun still out of the frame and clouds reaching across my backdrop I stood there and shot. It could not have been more perfect. Because the light on the flowers wasn't that great I just made it lighter in editing, but that sky is still in it's original state. For how much I chastised the sky in my other shots, calling it the most uncooperative element of all my photos (and I stand by that), for this particular shot, it could not have been better.

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

I was given a 7 hour time slot to paint this peice, The gate to the lot would lock up at 5 and I wasn't allow to stay and paint past business hours. Anyway, I showed up an hour late and painted my ass of for 6 hours. It was a real workout because of the scale, and my forearm felt like it was a wet noodle after. Although the time constraint helped with the 'deconstructive painting style, random 3d, hollow effects and negative spaces played a big role.
So, I've basically given up on using graduated ND filters because they're expensive and cheap ones scratch easily, so I've decided to do a manual HDR process instead. This photo was created using two pictures with different exposures and layers in Photoshop.

Photograph taken at an altitude of Forty nine metres at 09:36am on Saturday 20th February 2021 off Blackheath Avenue and Charlton Way in the grounds of Greenwich Park, one of the Royal Parks of London situated in Greenwich, South East London.
Here we see, Sciurus Carolinensis (Eastern Gray Squirrel or Grey Squirrel), a tree squirrel native to North America and first introduced to the UK in the 1870's. Though it was largely responsible for the decimation of our own native red squirrel population, those are now on the increase and found in certain parts of the UK including Scotland. The Greys are still an ecologically essential natural forester regenerator.

This One seconds long exposure was taken at an altitude of Five metres, at 06:57am on Monday 23rd September 2019 around sunrise off 1st Street and Bevan Avenue, between the boat jetty and Bevan Avenue Fishing Pier in beautiful Sidney by the sea on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.
The beautiful red sky bursting through the clouds was created by the sunlight's falling dust particles in the atmosphere, and lasted only a a few minutes before vanishing. It evolved almost out of nowhere and had walkers and joggers stopping in their tracks to watch it's brief beauty before it was gone and blueish grey clouds dominated the skyline once more.

I was given a delightful panettone for Christmas. It came in this tin which I am now using to store biscuits.
The expression, "Use it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without" was first popularized by President Calvin Coolidge, itself being adapted from the English expression, "Eat it up, wear it out, make it do, or do without". It became a popular saying during WWI, the Depression, WWII ... and now we call it upcycling, re-purposing, etc.
I just think this tin is too nice to throw away.

So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

I started processing this photo a few months ago and thought I was finished with it. Since I didn't end up using it at the time, I tucked it away in my "Finished and Ready To Go" Lightroom collection. At any given time I have about five processed photos in that folder ready to upload. This one was supposed to be ready, but I guess it really wasn't because I spent a few additional hours tinkering with it tonight. I hadn't planned to spend time working on an image tonight; in fact, the entire reason I went to that collection was to find a photo that was ready to upload.
Oh well, my to-do list didn't have anything on it that can't wait until tomorrow. I'm glad I spent the time this evening working this image. Besides coming out with a result I like much better than the first draft, it was nice to get lost in Lightroom for a few hours. Tought work week....glad it's almost over.

The Bramante Staircase is the name given to two staircases in the Vatican Museums in the Vatican City State: the original stair, built in 1505, and a modern equivalent from 1932. The original Bramante staircase, in the Pio-Clementine Museum, was built in 1505 to a double helix design by Donato Bramante. It connects the Belvedere palace of Pope Innocent VIII to the outside and stands in a square tower of that building.

When I lived in Toronto there were many Black's Camera stores that have since closed down. I bought this memory stick to put images on that I wanted to make into photos. It was a given to me as to what was on this stick. I just happened to have some material with cameras on it to take the shot. The 'camera' measures 1 3/4" X 2", pretty small and my iPhone took a pretty good shot of it.

Now if I could find something like this to photo for the next 141 days, I'd manage to get to the end of my 365 challenge.
Went out for a very pleasant walk this morning and found this on my way home. It had been sitting on the top of a Cowslip flower, but flew off just as I was about to get a photo. Luckily for me it landed on the fence, although it wasn't such a good backdrop, it stayed still.
I've given the photo a pretty heavy crop and hope it hasn't spoilt the photo as a whole.

I keep the tradition of sketching on the first day of the new year and here is a sketch of Rochor Centre which will be demolished this year to make way for new roads. There are only around 5 households left and they are old residents who are given extension of time to move out by mid Jan. I personally feel very sad to see Rochor Centre go because it is one of the earliest mixed commercial and public housing projects by the government. Singapore's Rochor Center to me has the potential to be rejuvenated like London's Barbican Estate but I guess nothing stays long enough in Singapore to become memories, heritage etc etc.

1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)
Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️
