A couple of years ago, a friend decided she really didn't want all the bottles in her house that she had accumulated over the decades. She was in her eighties and no longer had any desire to be drinking what was in the bottles. So she offered it all to another friend and me. We were glad to oblige her! (Although, we did leave about a third for her to give her son when he next visited from across the world.)
Slowly my wife and I have been drinking our part of the cache. There are not many bottles left, and this half-bottle of Sauternes was one of the last. We opened it this evening.
It is 36 years old but still without any fault. Clear, bright, rich, aromatic, and with no loss of sweetness that some old sweet wines apparently suffer from. Just delicious.

An ever-growing collection of fabric ribbons from a unique "12 Days of Christmas" tradition that my friends and I started a few years ago. We are the closest of friends but we live so far apart, me on the East Coast, Crow on the West Coast and Alison in the middle in SW NY State. Every year, we exchange gifts every day of the 12 days before Christmas. This means that I buy 12 gifts for each of them and vice versa and send a "12 Days" box to each other. No rules... our gifts can be home-made or purchased, silly or serious. We wrap our gifts and place numbers on each one, 1 - 12, so we will know which gift to open each day. And each night, we go online and open our gifts and chat a little about how cool/useful/pretty/silly or yummy each gift is.
To make the wrapping easier, my friends sewed some beautiful fabric gift bags and tied them with these pretty ribbons. All of our gift wrapping materials are reusable year after year. In this photo are some of the ribbons I like the most.

I have this journal that I bought at Barnes And Noble, and I love it.
Every single page has an inspiring quote along with a verse from the Bible
that matches the quote. Every time I write in it, I feel so inspired.
When I write about how bad I want to give up, I look up at the top of the page, and
i see a quote that tells me not to.
and at the bottom, there's a beautiful bible verse that tells me God has created plans for me.
I guard that journal with my life.
and I carry it everywhere I go.<333
I want to give God the greatest gift.
because he's blessed me, well, with my own life.
That is why i don't want to take my life for granted.
I want to make something out of it and please Him with it.
I want to be a photographer.
A photographer that through pictures, will show how lovely and merciful He is
to a world that lives and is lost in hopelessness, sadness, pain, death and fear.
and that He can change lives.
I want to be a person, that when people look at me, they can see clearly that Jesus lives
in my heart.
You are my reason for my joy. You are my reason for my happiness. Because of You I can rejoice. Because of you i treasure every breath, I owe this to You. For all that You do. To worship you in spirit and in truth. I live my life for You. I give you my heart. I give you my soul. Lord I give You my everything.
