Some gifts don’t need to be opened to be highly appreciated. In fact, sometimes the wrapping itself is a gift of its own. No need for fancy paper or packet string. Just add a little personal touch and creativity and the package immediately starts to glow and sparkle…
I received a gift a couple of days prior to my birthday and it wasn’t hard to wait until my birthday to open it - the hardest part was to open it and destroy the package.
…but the content of the package made it all worth it…

... a look at the figures at lower left of the 'Crowning of Charlemagne' fresco. They appear to be bearing gifts for the coronation.
This fresco was painted around the time of the concordat between the Papacy and France in 1515.

Ok, so I changed my mind about my Christmas card yesterday. I though yesterday's shot was too dull for a card and so I went with this one that has a little more color and sparkle. What do you think? Better? I wish my window in the background had snow, though...
So now all I have to do is send them. And I haven't started my Xmas shopping either. And I have gift boxes that I need to send to my family and friends in Spain too. And three winter birthday parties to plan. Arrgghhh... So when am I going to have time for Flickr??

I purchased a daylily as a gift for my dear friend, Rita, a few years back. It was a small token as she has given me many divisions of her perennial over the years. Last fall she gave me a division of this one. It's my only "double' Daylily.

Ray Nathaniel
The first child of our dear friends Froi and Emma Ruth. He was born on the 10th of August 2010. His parents named him in honor of his late grandfather Ray who passed away a few weeks before his birthdate.
The name Nathaniel comes from the Hebrew origin. In Hebrew, the meaning of the name Nathaniel is Gift of God or God has given. One of the 12 biblical apostles.
