Hercules Tree.

The often overexposed and digitally manipulated photography of Matias Masucci.

These were taken in October of 2014 at Mountain Home Demonstration State Forest and Balch Park in the southern Sierra Nevada mountains. Mountain Home Grove is a grove of giant sequoias south of the more popular Sequoia National Park. It includes trees such as the Adam tree, the 20th biggest tree in the world, and the Hercules Tree, a giant sequoia with a room carved out of its trunk.

A giant tree. Shot in front of Honolulu Zoo in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Sequoiadendron giganteum trees are called "Mammoth trees" in Australia anyway, because the branches bend like mommoth tusks.....

At any given time, a large tree may be expected to have approximately 11,000 cones. The upper part of the crown of any mature Giant Sequoia invariably produces a greater abundance of cones than its lower portions. A mature giant sequoia has been estimated to disperse from 300,000-400,000 seeds per year. The winged seeds may be carried up to 180m (600 ft) from the parent tree.

Picea sitchensis: can grow close to 330 feet tall

Sitka spruce is a long-lived tree, with individuals over 700 years old known. Because it grows rapidly under favorable conditions, large size may not indicate exceptional age. The Queets Spruce (Olympic peninsula) has been estimated to be only 350 to 450 years old, but adds more than a cubic meter of wood each year., (The Queets Spruce is the largest in the world with a trunk volume of 346 m3 (12,200 cu ft), a height of 74.6 m (245 ft), and a 4.4 m (14 ft) diameter at breast height)
