I was feeling a little depressed and anxious tonight; going for a walk usually helps. I walked pass this alley. I played fast pitching there with my friends about 45 years ago. The diamond is still on the wall. The neighbor changed a lot in 45 years, but some things stay the same.

One more year on a counter. Getting ready for a birthday in a couple of days. I don't like birthdays, it's been all downhill after 25.

Hey look it's me, the face behind Isthmus Portrait with a rare self-portrait. Some of you following my page know me personally, while others only know me through photography, maybe we've met riding bikes, or even just out and about on a walk downtown. Either way thanks for stopping by to check out my page, I've been doing a #365project (leap year #366project) taking new photos everyday of the year: Mostly capturing a slice of life on the isthmus. In 2017 when I lost my father I had just begun cycling, and now 7 plus years later it's the way I find most of my photo opportunities.

Oftentimes you'll find me out in a bright colored kit on State Street with a camera around my neck, so don't hesitate to be a stranger if you recognize me. My portraits of the people I meet on by bike and my walkabouts are the project I call the #608strangers, which I'm sure if you're you've been following me long enough, you know about the project. Over the last 13 years or so documenting Madison, I've photographed over 400 different individuals I've never met before and got to know their story. If you'd be interested in joining this ever growing project, don't hesitate to reach out or ask. That'll be all for now, the first day of spring saved its best light for last and the only subject I had was me.

I went to the fabric store today to get something for accessorizing one of my outfits for Teslacon (this year is Wild, Wild West and Dark Circus themed). And I completely forgot to do a photo for the theme in We're Here!

So, here's a photo of my big ol' head. I'm still having the internal battle with dyeing my roots or letting it grow out. It isn't the grey that's bothering me, it's just the blah-brown of my not-grey-hair. I so much preferred the dark auburn.

(also, "dyeing" when referring to hair dye still looks wrong to me).

Sabi nila ang Buhay daw ay mula B to D. Why? Because its from BIRTH to DEATH. So life starts from the day were BORN until the day we Die. Tama diba? Pero ang letrang "C" ang namamagitan sa B at D... What is C.? Well it's a CHOICE... Kung ano man ang nangyayari sa life natin eh nakadepende sa ating ginagawang choices. But if our choice is one more "C" which is CHRIST. We can extend the D up to E.. And that's (E) Eternal life. #misentovecchia #asian #pinay #filipina #gettingolder #born #death #die #ethernallife #amonthtogo #twentysixyearsofexistence #stoinvecchiando #old #nolongeralady #woman #angtandakona #lifequotes #quotes #qotd #memyselfandi #bonjour #roma #sabato #mattina #portrait #livelaughlove #ciao - settemarie

This is my latest work. It's made of seed pods from a tree, rattan sticks and glitter glue. As it ages, the seed pods will dry out and turn brown. The seed pods remind me of cells and tadpoles. I have glitter glue on the sticks (but no matter how "pretty" you make dead wood, it's still dead wood!). I'll be photographing it's progress.

Well, you just saw one end now here's the other! The eyes say it all...she really was sad I was going to run my errands without her and Buddy. L A R G E

i had the great pleasure of participating in a fantastic surprise party for one of my best friends on friday. we all waited for her in the lobby of her work- she works nights- and gave her the shock of 40 years. all put together by her husband- he rocks. she was utterly speechless and overwhelmed- and then laughing pretty hard at some of our gag gifts. So far the 40yr old parties i've been to have been pretty outstanding. At 40 you're surrounded by the close people- the people who will stick with you for the last 40 (or more...) And my black and tan was just right :)

JB got me one of the coolest prezzies ever.

However cute Danbo is I would never have bought myself one, but that's what makes birthdays (and JB) so awesome :)

Danbo came with us to Brum yesterday and enjoyed lunch at Wagamama, pictures to follow later...

Happy Furry Friday!

I was going through some old letters & found a card my sister gave me for my 21st birthday. ^_^ It had my horoscope & some pics. Thanks for always remembering Quasi! Here's the horoscope she gave me...what was your fortune back in June of 2001?

Theme for the Leeds flickr group meet-up: "getting older"

After a rough year, with one of my cousins getting into a serious accident. My family has grown closer, and we have learned to not take life for granted, and to just have fun with each other. At thanksgiving, we goofed around, took pictures and had a blast. I can always count on my family to be by my side, and recognize me for who I really am. We support each other, and are closer than ever. We are a strange crowd but I wouldn't trade it for anything else. These relationships are something that money definitely can not buy. I can have it for free, and whenever I want. Literally all I have to do is send a snapchat or send a text and they will be there. I can continue to grow closer with them despite any distance, and I can always know they have my back! I have especially tried to set aside my differences with my sisters, as a part of growing up and allowed them to be closer to me, without us fighting over petty things. We really do love each other, and now we all can show it.

and always will!"

As fatty has got older, she has developed arthritis.

She was finding it increasingly difficult to get up on the bed and the sofa so I got her this wee step to help her out!!

She took to it straight away, bless her.

"Are you sure I can't have just one?"

Yep...They're freakin' bifocals too! But eh, for 40 I could look worse I spose...

Active Assignment Weekly: Sept 6-Sept 13: Our Critter(s)

What we are looking for here is a photograph(s) of your very own (not necessarily favorite) Critter that makes an impact on your life.

DARE: Get up close and personal.

WIT:Mitzi on the couch, Macro lens, hand held (sorry not so sharp) and light from window (Left)

Mitzi is my beloved 13.5 year older malteese x red heeler. She is my favorite critter (don't tell the cat) but only as I have had her longest.

i am certain that this little munchkin i babysit for is going to grow up to be a model.

we played with her train all night long.

"I need to take a break from swimming during winter time", Yehezkel said.

"My knees and left shoulder are very hurting now, I'd better watch out. No, it's not the cold I am afraid of, it's the pain getting worse."

Yehezkel has always been a regular visitor on the beach, summers & winters. And although his left leg is amputated, we used to swim together far, far behind the wave breakers. It took us over an hour to reach Cyprus, as we jokingly called our destination, and another hour back.

Yep, those were the days.

Time will have its way with us, one way or another.
