For the sixty-four colors group. I was almost ready to concede this week when I looked at Grammy's cane. She reluctantly allowed me to photograph her hand on the cane after I explained that I wanted to tell a little bit of story instead of just taking a picture of a metal tube. Have a fantastic week and a great holiday in the US.
I don't have a problem getting older. I expected the wrinkles, saggy skin and aches and pains. Being a redhead, I've had "gray" hair forever, along with black, blond and everything in between. But what I didn't expect, and what no one talks about is the abundance of "odd" hair. Like the really white ones that grow in your eyebrows. A friend of mine calls them "curb feelers" since they grow so long so fast (think Andy Rooney).
It struck me recently just how much I have changed in the last few years,
I realized that I never really look at my face in a mirror, I just glance and it came as a shock when I took this photo this morning that there was a stranger peering into my eyes..........so I thought I would peer into your face too!
please don't view large.........far too serious!
I am GRATEFUL that I don't have too many of them, because there are plenty of other parts of my body that are showing their age.
I'm 46 1/2 years old and I can count the grey hairs on my head. There are 3. I notice them because they catch the light, and have a wonderful coarse texture that I wish the rest of my hair had. Many of my friends have been coloring out their grey since they were in their 20's. I'm really bad at personal maintenance, so that would be a problem for me - I am afraid I would be sporting grey roots for most of the time.
My mother always said I would be thankful for my oily skin (and chubby cheeks) some day - and I am. What I hated as a teen has kept my skin naturally moisturized and slowed the wrinkles. Although I do like the little crows feet that show when I smile.

...that I need new glasses.
I've been wearing glasses full time since I was around 10 year old, but now at 51, the time has come to get varifocals.
i received a card from my grandma, and inevitably, she goes on and on about enjoying your life as best as you can while you're young and such. i appreciate the sentiment, and i know she misses grandpa (he's been gone almost 5 years now).
however, having said that, she'll always leave something cryptic in her notes. and this is no exception. naz and i couldn't figure out what the seemingly korean script meant. yoko ono? igo-no? turns out, the wooden bear we bought her for christmas has been named "no-no" for reasons i couldn't quite discern when i called her to thank her for the card. whatever, i'm glad she liked her gift.
and then of course, i love that she says hello to naz on my card.
Just a Sp of me, Outside my box!
The past 3 days have been filled with pain from my diabetic neuropathy. It's hard to walk, when I can walk. I try to be strong, but it's hard to when your in so much pain. Last night it was so bad, all I did was cry in my lazyboy.

The Older I Get - The Faster Time Flies
043/365 of the set 365:SDD - Something Different Daily.

It will be my biggest birthday party yet - blue man group and barenaked ladies are playing the private party at universal studios orlando.
Well... They think they are playing a corporate event for cisco. But, hey it's on my birthday!
It is the year 2050. We all live in a utopia of eternal youth and perfect health, but with one big catch, our own fixed expiry date. People reaching the end of their licensed age must submit to a government controlled euthanasia programme. Today is the day of Adam’s funeral, the day on which he will finally taste the Wine of India.

Ha! So much for a SP a month!
This is me. Nearly always bare-faced, and beginning to get old and wrinkly (sob!) I have realisations every so often that I am not, in fact, 23 or 24 anymore, and that maybe I do need to start filling in or covering up the forehead frown lines... or maybe I should just go for the botoxed immovable look ;-)
Spending your birthday with your man and a doughnut!
Today JB took me out for the day. While we were in the 'big city' he bought me a birthday doughnut - mmm, doughnuts ;-)
I'm off to have a lovely evening and will catch up on here tomorrow, night night Flickr peeps.
Listening to George Harrison's All Things Must Pass.....Have a great week. I will. I have jury duty on my 46th birthday, Wednesday...I'm starting to forget my years!
She looks so much older here. Didn't touch her eyes. Don't know why they're looking so blue. Should have washed her mouth - taken right after supper.
