Downey Wilderness Park, which is a bit of an oxymoron. Still, a place to walk the dog, Murphy, while waiting for mom's perm to be completed. Downey, CA

I aged Lucy 20 years for SHE magazine according to her lifestyle which was pretty unhealthy hence the rather shocking results! Lifestyle age progression.

the face of excitement

Flight early tomorrow, as I leave for the sunshine state for a ten day stay. With my first true vacation with no commitments and schedule of events (aside from plane ride), I look forward to relaxing and spending time with family and friends!

Hey, a big day just to get a perm. Lots of planning and work involved. Doesn't she look great, though? Whittier, CA

I don't have a problem getting older. I expected the wrinkles, saggy skin and aches and pains. Being a redhead, I've had "gray" hair forever, along with black, blond and everything in between. But what I didn't expect, and what no one talks about is the abundance of "odd" hair. Like the really white ones that grow in your eyebrows. A friend of mine calls them "curb feelers" since they grow so long so fast (think Andy Rooney).

It struck me recently just how much I have changed in the last few years,

I realized that I never really look at my face in a mirror, I just glance and it came as a shock when I took this photo this morning that there was a stranger peering into my eyes..........so I thought I would peer into your face too!

please don't view large.........far too serious!

I am GRATEFUL that I don't have too many of them, because there are plenty of other parts of my body that are showing their age.

I'm 46 1/2 years old and I can count the grey hairs on my head. There are 3. I notice them because they catch the light, and have a wonderful coarse texture that I wish the rest of my hair had. Many of my friends have been coloring out their grey since they were in their 20's. I'm really bad at personal maintenance, so that would be a problem for me - I am afraid I would be sporting grey roots for most of the time.

My mother always said I would be thankful for my oily skin (and chubby cheeks) some day - and I am. What I hated as a teen has kept my skin naturally moisturized and slowed the wrinkles. Although I do like the little crows feet that show when I smile.

Bob, did you forget that you took the forks already?

...that I need new glasses.

I've been wearing glasses full time since I was around 10 year old, but now at 51, the time has come to get varifocals.

i received a card from my grandma, and inevitably, she goes on and on about enjoying your life as best as you can while you're young and such. i appreciate the sentiment, and i know she misses grandpa (he's been gone almost 5 years now).

however, having said that, she'll always leave something cryptic in her notes. and this is no exception. naz and i couldn't figure out what the seemingly korean script meant. yoko ono? igo-no? turns out, the wooden bear we bought her for christmas has been named "no-no" for reasons i couldn't quite discern when i called her to thank her for the card. whatever, i'm glad she liked her gift.

and then of course, i love that she says hello to naz on my card.

Just a Sp of me, Outside my box!

The past 3 days have been filled with pain from my diabetic neuropathy. It's hard to walk, when I can walk. I try to be strong, but it's hard to when your in so much pain. Last night it was so bad, all I did was cry in my lazyboy.

The labels say:

=> My hair is mostly gray in the front.

=> Words I intend to say come out as something else.

=> I've known people for decades not just years.

=> I can get so tired...and every once in a while going to bed at 8 p.m. and sleeping until 5 a.m. is necessary to function.

=> I look at something and can't remember the word for it.

=> Older family members are dying - leaving me as the "next in line."

=> I believe the music I listened to as a teen and in college was more complex and better written than what is being produced now.

=> I hear myself say, "When I was your age...."

=> I can remember NOT having:

...a microwave

...color t.v.

...air conditioning in the house or car

....power windows on the car

....a cell phone

....a personal computer or laptop

The Older I Get - The Faster Time Flies

043/365 of the set 365:SDD - Something Different Daily.

Getting older. She reached her milestone this weekend. Mine is not until wednesday. Luckily, i won't be 80 just yet.

It will be my biggest birthday party yet - blue man group and barenaked ladies are playing the private party at universal studios orlando.

Well... They think they are playing a corporate event for cisco. But, hey it's on my birthday!

It is the year 2050. We all live in a utopia of eternal youth and perfect health, but with one big catch, our own fixed expiry date. People reaching the end of their licensed age must submit to a government controlled euthanasia programme. Today is the day of Adam’s funeral, the day on which he will finally taste the Wine of India.

A long wiped Wednesday Play first transmitted on the BBC in 1970, Greater Manchester Fringe 2013 was the first time this play has been seen in 43 years. Presented by Lass Productions and Scythe Plays.

Sent by listener @MagnieShearer to #youandyours via twitter.

I uploaded my old self-portrait yesterday, so today I need to show you myself from yesterday.

starting to notice lines on my face. i think i should smile more, try to not to frown or squint and generally lighten up. either that or get a botox treatment.

It was Ty's 9th birthday on the 1st January. I didn't get time to upload a pic on his day so here it is now :)

Can't believe Missy & Ty are my oldies now :(
