"Racing around to come up behind you again.

The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older

Shorter of breath and one day closer to death."

Today's the last day of summer for the kids before they go back to school tomorrow... It seems like summer flew by in a blink of an eye. A little sad all the summer fun comes to an end. Another school year begins. Kids grow up fast, we get older even faster :) Happy Labor's day!

I was having a really really rough day today - everybody wants to fight with me: life, photography, ex-friends, even my own chemistry.

I had a huge panic attack on my way to work. I felt overwhelmed with all that had been happening over the past few days - my crippling manic episodes and the impending doom of an inevitable crash.

I got home and was still feeling horrible, but turned the camera onto myself, and I thought of Trishlet and how she inspires me...

This is for you Trish

...on our lawns and in our lives.

Tenacious things...like the spirits of some of the people I know.

Like solitary dandelions they stand, somewhat battle-weary and a little bedraggled, as their youth fades...but they soldier on....against all odds...

These are the people I admire...who stand their ground...putting one foot in front of the other, as they struggle to make their lives better...

I know several of these people, and I could name names...like Rob, and Sylvia, and Arlene, and Brian, and Sharon...but I won't...

...because they already know they are dear to my heart...and that I admire their feisty attitudes...and their stalwart souls...

Of course you can! And you too, my Flickr friends: you're all invited to my 27th Birthday Party ^___^

I have been wanting to do this since I saw iluv2bauntie's fantastic version. My Max is getting up there in years but I hope he is around for a few more. Have a great weekend everyone.

There is a Garden in Pennsylvania named LongWoods Gardens. An awesome place to hang out with friends, family and your beloved one. You can plan for birth day party or marriage ceremony. Great time for visiting is April through September. Christmas is also great. From December 15th to January 12 they display magnificent lighting show. They have also lily Garden and Fountain show. I strongly recommend for friends and family.

Last in a 10 year series of self-portraits begun in 2010. Shot in the studio.

One more in a looong series of self portraits, appropriate for this pandemic year.

Can't leave the house so all I have left to photograph is me. At least that way I only have myself to please.

I have not taken many photos of my old boy lately.....he is starting to show his age, I have no words for how much I love this guy.....used Kim Klassen "weathered" texture and some techniques from her Beyond Layers class. Have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Giggered by me I love sepia

Mom's apartment, Hørsholm.

I have been trying so hard to stop taking photos being motivated by what I feel, and focus on what I see. It did not take me long to realise I am a person of this quality, the quality and strength to embrace every feeling, no matter how negative it might be, and let it teach me, let it grow and die in me, and eventually express it. It is almost impossible to me to see something outside my feelings shaped world, and I guess this is who I am and what makes me unique among others. Observing her body as well as I observe my body changing, reminded me what constitutes human flesh. She looked so tiny and fragile, as if getting older means you shrink back into a small dot, from where all began. An internal meeting point.

Part of my flesh stories. Influence by my Francoise Dolto readings:

La solitude m'a toujours accompagnée, de près ou de loin, comme elle accompagne tous ceux, qui seuls, tentent de voir et d'entendre, là où d' aucuns ne font que regarder et écouter. Amie inestimable, ennemie mortelle, solitude qui ressource, solitude qui détruit, elle nous pousse à atteindre et à dépasser nos limites.

First new self-portrait age almost 71, since May of 2020, almost a year ago. Shot in the studio.

This is why my wife gives me the looks as in the previous photo. Who can blame her.

Mom's apartment, Hørsholm.

This was probably my expression when I was waiting for "Waiting for Godot" to be over.

Studio shot of myself and my trusty, one-eyed dog Hank. Part of a series of self-portraits.

Where is Jiminy Cricket when you need him? Latest in a series of self-portraits on aging.

I randomly started taking birthday self-portraits and selfies when I was 29. Somehow, it has turned into a tradition, since this is the sixth one in a row. I'm not a fan of getting older, but I'm a big fan of living and getting to be here year after year.

I'm saying this because, over the past two years, I've been struggling with recurring depressive episodes, consequential weight gain, and damaged sense of self-worth caused by both. Hence, It's been a while since I took a self-portrait. I haven't felt neither inspired nor pretty enough to do it.

But today, on this cold and cloudy day, I've decided to shine. I can't say that this day is perfect. It's actually one of those days when things start going wrong from the moment you wake up. But that's life, and I'm accepting it as it is, happy to be here to experience it. My health is finally getting better, I'm still roaming this Earth, I'm getting out of a dark tunnel, and as of today, I'm 34! :)

Another in my seemingly endless series of self-portraits this one featuring a few Native-American made rings, two by Navajo jewelers and one by a a Laguna Pueblo jeweler. They are small works of art that you can carry around with you. Shot in the studio.

Self portrait shot in the studio using a west facing window and a reflector. The clue to the title is on the wall of the studio. The latest in a series that started in 2010.

Thirty-one means wearing a rediculously short dress with a poodle pattern and carelessly painted nails.

I stole this title from the movie "Network". A great movie about truth, greed, and how funny sweating can be. Why do the mass of us have to be nicer than those in power (political or economic)?

Latest of a ten year series of self-portraits on the theme of aging. Slow shutter speed (and an old man holding very still) blurred the eyes,

You have heard of the viscous street gangs the "blood"s and the "crips." Well there is a new, even worse, street gang. The" AARP's." They are starting to pop up in some quiet suburban neighborhoods all around the country. The police are beginning to get a lot of complaints about small groups of 50+ year old men causing disturbances. Sometimes as late as 7:30 or 8:00 pm on a school night, no less, these men can be seen hanging out on the corner. They are usually sipping expensive scotch whiskey while discussing which medications they are now on and which is better, Cialis or Viagra. They complain about back pain, being bald, and having to wear reading glasses and pants with elastic waste bands. They worry about high cholesterol, cataracts, and colonoscopies. Sometimes they drift off to better days and talk about athletic achievements, a former pant size, or even boast about how good (they think) they used to be in bed. This usually leads to everyone agreeing that things in general where much better in the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Maybe they are right.

For those of you in other parts of the world. AARP stands for the American Association of Retired Persons. Two weeks ago I received my card in the mail. You become eligible to join at the age of 50, which I will be in a couple of days. However, I am nowhere near being close to being able to retire.
