he was inspired to do so

by listening to our

old jazz records

and by having the chance

to try it out in

beginning band

as a now 6th grader

his first few months

showed so much improvement

and love for the trumpet

that his grandma begged

to buy him his very own

lucky boy

lucky boy indeed!

we have been going to the library to borrow music

that features the trumpet

finding some amazing things

like the chet baker docu

Lady Cocó... SOON

Getting a lift up the mountainside on our way to the Natural Bridge in Kentucky.

Making a portrait from time to time, makes me feel happy.

Especially when it comes unexpected: This lady was sitting in her window, looking for fresh air, which she couldn't find in her dark and far from airy city apartment.

Sometimes you've got to get into the water to get the shot you had in mind. Seen from up on the mezzanine level at Nathan Phillips Sq.

Thoreau once said "Pursue some path, however narrow and crooked, in which you can walk with love and reverence."

I'm not on a bad path, but something significant is missing.. my love and respect for me. It's time to take that deep breath and jump, it's time to focus on me - not what others want me to be, or what others think that I want for me. It's time to be selfish and do something just for me. So here it is, my challenge to myself - a pic a day for 2017. I can't promise they'll all be good, I can promise some will likely be rushed, but it's the trying that matters.. right?

Not a new path, just a parallel path in the dirt. Lets see where this goes...

The new Get Smart movie is now being shown in theaters. This, of course, was based on the original TV series, Get Smart which aired from 1965 to 1970. One of my favorite all time sitcoms, it starred Don Adams as Maxwell Smart. Long before the modern day cell phone was invented, Smart used an analog rotary dial wireless telephone which he had neatly hidden in the soul of his shoe. I like to think of Maxwell Smart as the world's first person to use a cell phone, some 30 years before anyone else.

Don Adams (1923-2005) was an actor and stand-up comedian. His album, Don Adams, Live? was recorded live at the Sands in Las Vegas in 1967.

I wanna give that CSI Miami feel...but i think i failed miserably :D

This was hilarious. The Mom was trying to lower herself into the water to get baby off. Baby was having nothing to do with this. Eventually, Mom had to breach out of the water to remove the baby.

C: "I want to go explore while you tell the story Gretel... I'll be right here. Help me down please."

G: "Ok, Clarabelle, but stay close... Now, where was I Matilda?"

M: "Hansel left at trail."

G: "Oh yes! Thank you! "I've left a trail, like last time!" Hansel whispered to Gretel, consolingly. But when night fell, they saw to their horror, that all the crumbs had gone.

"I'm frightened!" wept Gretel bitterly. "I'm cold and hungry and I want to go home!"

"Don't be afraid. I'm here to look after you!" Hansel tried to encourage his sister, but he too shivered when he glimpsed frightening shadows and evil eyes around them in the darkness. All night the two children huddled together for warmth at the foot of a large tree."

After the passenger traffic of the evening has gone, it gives some space for the freight traffic of the upcoming night. One of the examples is the freight train from Kajaani to Lauritsala, which curves into the tunnel that is working while the load is getting soaked.

Well, at least for second or less ... the frame before this is the adult with the fish and the juvenile in pursuit ... the frame after this one the fish in the talons of the juvenile bald eagle.

Geena is now 9 years old, that's a good age for such a big dog and she's still fine, but lately I realize that unfortunately she does not have so much energy...

I wish you all a beautiful sunny weekend!

I have an Olympus Tough waterproof camera which I don't use that often... this is handy when out in a kayak on the microscope setting... getting close isn't easy when you are in a kayak trying to hold the camera over the side as the water moves you along!

The thing that makes bird photography so attractive to me is that you are at the mercy of the animal. You can't catch a bird and pose it for a nice shot like you can do with reptiles and amphibians. To be able to get close for great images, you need to be able to understand bird behavior and not be afraid to get down and dirty. When I first spotted a large group of avocets feeding on a mudflat, they were about 100 yards away with nothing but water, mud, and a small stand of reeds between me and them. After about 20 minutes of crawling through the mud, stopping when the avocets went on alert, I had closed the distance to 15 yards. I was able to use the small stand of reeds as cover and watched them feed, sometimes getting so close that my lens couldn't focus (less than 13 feet). Although I was cold, wet, and covered in mud, I couldn't have been any happier.

Although this was taken several years ago, I remember the day distinctly. This Red-tail came flew quite close and I knew he didn't like me being in his territory. I held my ground and took the shot anyway.

I've been watching the Hackberry Emperors since they hatched. Getting quite large....

It's never good to be "too serious" or to frown too much. It's always good to look at the positive side of things.. The glass half full. No matter what.

This type of thinking ensures a happier life. A better mood. A great attitude. Less depression.

When I start to feel depression or anxiety creeping up, I do my best to push it aside.. and GET SILLY!

Anyone who knows me, knows that I've always been a bit silly once you get to know me. But it's always important to never be too serious.. too sad. Because Life is TOO SHORT.

Smile. Laugh. & GET SILLY!!

The interior view of Sultan Mosque, Singapore.

The Sultan mosque, which is also known as 'Masjid Sultan', was first built in 1824 for the first sultan of Singapore, Sultan Hussein Shah. It was rebuilt in 1932 to the present mosque seen in the photo. The mosque is a popular place of visit among tourist.

A great crested grebe (Podiceps cristatus) that just fed one of its chicks with a fish, some weeks ago.

Even though I was away on vacation when the chicks were small enough to be carried on their parents´ backs, it was fun to photograph them at this size as well for the first time.

I will show photos where their fish shows later on ツ
