This little tiger, Ella, just finished a hard day of ski school and is about to get a hot chocolate treat.
A few weeks ago we had a glorious foggy morning that I was able to take advantage of. I’ve captured multiple angles of these trees over the last year. I don’t know what it is but I’m drawn to them.

Smoke filled skies were the scene in South Jersey beginning mid afternoon. I first noticed this fire heading down to NJ a little around 3p. But by 5:30/6, the plume was clearly visible from the southern end of Ocean City. Coming home, I decided to get as close as I could and Batsto was about it without pressing my luck further. Pretty wicked the way the fire lights up the sky after the sun goes down.
Three hundred years ago, California’s Central Valley was vast grassland where antelope and elk grazed and wildflowers swept the spring landscape. Today, amid urban and agriculture development, a remnant remains in the Carrizo Plain National Monument.
Carrizo Plain National Monument is one of the best kept secrets in California. Only a few hours from Los Angeles, the Carrizo Plain offers visitors a rare chance to be alone with nature. Some visitors say you can "hear the silence." The plain is home to diverse communities of wildlife and plant species including several listed as threatened or endangered and is an area culturally important to Native Americans.
