#mood for Winter:
I'm driving home for Christmas
Oh, I can't wait to see those faces
I'm driving home for Christmas, yea
Well I'm moving down that line
And it's been so long
But I will be there
I sing this song
To pass the time away
Driving in my car
Driving home for Christmas
It's gonna take some time
But I'll get there
Top to toe in tailbacks
Oh, I got red lights on the run
But soon there'll be a freeway yeah
Get my feet on holy ground
So I sing for you
Though you can't hear me
When I get through
And feel you near me
Driving in my car
I'm driving home for Christmas
Driving home for Christmas
With a thousand memories
I take a look at the driver next to me
He's just the same
Just the same
Top to toe in tailbacks
Oh, I got red lights all around, uh
I'm driving home for Christmas, yeah
Get my feet on holy ground
So I sing for you
Though you can't hear me
When I get through
Oh and feel you near me
Driving in my car
Driving home for Christmas
Driving home for Christmas
With a thousand memories
I take a look at the driver next to me
He's just the same
He's driving home, driving home

As I said before these photos were all done on private land where no members of public are allowed so we put no one else in danger. It had just rained so fires weren't a worry with precautions in place just in case, and our safety was all under control using large fuses and remote control to the camera. We also did trial and error to work out a safe place to stand, and using a large tree to block any potential sparks hitting the subjects

week one assignment for my get your paint on class.
i've had a gee's bend postcard hanging above my studio desk forever, always meaning to do a gee's bend painting, so happy that i finally have the opportunity to really sit down and do it!
this was a challenging painting to work on, much more so than i thought it would be! it felt like a very different way of working for me- using something other than my own idea as the starting point... but it was great! (it definitely went though and "ugly phase!")
i based my piece on a few different quilts, pulling ideas, colors and patterns from each one together. i worked first in my sketchbook, then just dove on in. i forced myself to use only "scraps" of collage materials i found discarded on my desk and tried not to worry about things looking "neat". (i used my book Gee's Bend: The Architecture of the Quilt as reference)
the final painting seems new and different compared to how i usually work, and that was my goal!
acrylic/mixed media/collage on board. 8x8"
a super first assignment! : )

The photo challenge of week 41 was GET PUSHED. Another participant of the Challenge looked at my profile and gave me an assignment to take a picture that I had never taken before, or at least something that I would not normally take a picture of, so out of my comfort zone. He asked me to make a photo of something blue…….
I was on a short break in Belgium, in Ieper and the weather was not always good. A lot of rain, and luckily also a sign of a blue sky! So I made this abstract photo of the raindrops on the window, with a little blue sky in the background.

Weekly Theme: Week 41 Get Pushed
Title: Get Pushed - Blue
My version of Getter One, as seen in ''Getter Robot: The Last Day''. I made the Black Getter one year ago, but with this I have improved the internal frame, now taller (230 mm), more solid and with many extractable joints (Black Getter will soon have the same treatment ^^). I used a sticker for the red ''V'' on the legs.
Learning dance step at Festival of India, maybe next year a bigger crowd will be allowed along with bare faces.

It wasn't easy to get this pic. I took this picture through the open roof of Lucas car ( www.flickr.com/photos/lucaphotography/4888734778/in/photo... ) while standing on the passenger seat. Just imagine the reactions of the people in the sorrounding cars. Hope you like the result!
Big field full of these, though challenging to get close enough to really see them, even with a long lens and binoculars.
Horned lark, Eremophila alpestris
Two pluses to getting older
1. I care less what others think so I am more comfortable with my femside.
2. More breast tissue! Not all would agree with this but I have chosen to enjoy it! As they say grow a pair.😄

I watched these two girls seemingly struggle with getting there camera settings right. Finally they got there and started taking images.
Today's cold and wet weather was good for visiting Tower Hill Botanical Garden, where there are two large orangeries. I should've taken note of this plant's name.
For this round of Man Cave we're getting Lit with our newest lights!

One of my all time favorite images, but it was always technically flawed due to low light noise and a bit of motion blur. Topaz Sharpen AI managed to rescue this to a much more usable version. I completely reprocessed this from scratch using modern Topaz and Adobe tools.
Getting some water.
A number of birds appeared yesterday. I think they're just passing through.
Probably a hard freeze tonight.
Okay...a couple more shots of my new friend. I went out yesterday morning to see if I could get some shots of the kits. They were nowhere to be found but mom is starting to get a little friendly. Going out this morning to give it one more shot ; )
It was very cold overnight, just below minus fourteen in our neighbourhood, and first thing this morning the flickers got frisky with one another.
They were doing this dance for ten minutes while I watched and took pictures from the window. Eventually they disappeared.
And later the female came back for peanuts.
