Somewhere dark to get lost

The Peak District holds many surprises all year round.

Valentine's Day and Ash Wednesday fell on the same day this year. These folks were standing in front of Bank of America / Trader Joe's.

The man is holding tracts with a quote from Pope Francis on the front, so I guess they're legit.

During a recent visit to the Napa Valley in California while walking around and exploring the area outside the tasting room building at Stag's Leap Wine Cellars. The setting was to the north-northwest and had this picturesque backdrop, with a hillside adorned with trees and blue skies stretching above on a sunny day.

I guess I owe and apology... I kinda have up on my 52 week project :( I'm not really sure what happened... I guess I just lost motivation/inspiration

Every now and then, you need some. Whatever that "some" is, go get it.

Today's cold and wet weather was good for visiting Tower Hill Botanical Garden, where there are two large orangeries. I should've taken note of this plant's name.

A behind the scenes shot from a recent photo shoot

Okay...a couple more shots of my new friend. I went out yesterday morning to see if I could get some shots of the kits. They were nowhere to be found but mom is starting to get a little friendly. Going out this morning to give it one more shot ; )

It was very cold overnight, just below minus fourteen in our neighbourhood, and first thing this morning the flickers got frisky with one another.

They were doing this dance for ten minutes while I watched and took pictures from the window. Eventually they disappeared.

And later the female came back for peanuts.

This beautiful female Northern Cardinal took me by surprise..Staring right through me she was that's for sure..

Enjoy! Have a great weekend everyone. (It's snowing here in Mississauga, so I'm posting yet another shot today)

Forgive the not so nice background of this picture but I was playing with Isabel yesterday and suddenly the light was perfect. I love how she looks so real here!!

I changed her eyes and wig and they feel right. She's also starting to call herself Ema. Not sure yet about the clothes but we're getting there.

Ema is an Iplehouse Isabel

From the wedding ceremony of Thea Marie and Markus this past summer.

We share the same niece and nephew, and it was a big bonus that photographing their wedding included seeing my little hearts in their adorable outfits, and listening to my sister and her husband (the bride's brother) perform.

All my best wishes for a long and great future together!

I have more photos from their ceremony in the links below the line.

on our way to Canyonlands, but with a little Artistic TZ this time.

Here is Mrs Wattie getting out of the bath.

After the Getter One moc, I've heavily revisited the Black Getter, with new proportions, details, cape position (Zurg cape) and scarf (two Harry Potter minifig capes) and predisposition for a stand.

I've always been the quiet type. Good at observation and blending in. That's me!

Uncomfortable with, and thus avoiding the spotlight or stage of any kind - I thrive in shadows.

A shade loving plant.

That is why its puzzling I allow myself to be pushed on occasion. This hotel pool scene is an example.

Nora in public, in daylight, in a costume that hides little. That's not pushing boundaries - its totally ignoring them!

Funny - once having the attention of an audience, I feel compelled to perform - or at least act the part. My motivator is fear of disappointing others. If the audience expects to see a bathing beauty poolside - I feel it necessary to act like one.

In this photo I'm glancing to an onlooker to gauge his satisfaction with my performance. I've got his attention and he's not good at being subtle. However its just not clear how he feels so I appear perplexed.

Some might say "Silly Nora - just be yourself. Don't worry about what others think."

But what if my purpose in life is to help others? Perhaps my performances, designed to meet expectations, are a way I am being myself. After all - no one is forcing me.

Why do we do what we do?
