Whenever the forest invites you to go on a hike, there is always a certain tension. Especially paths that you don't know have a special charm on you.
Black-eyed Susans are the state flower of Maryland, the official flower of the Preakness Stakes horse race, an Australian rock band, a restaurant in Nantucket, a clothing shop in Long Beach Island,
a cocktail (made with orange and pineapple juices, rum, vodka and elderberry liqueur).......
A lot going on for this garden variety flower! They are so bright and cheerful!

I had this idea early on but did not get it ready till an hour before posting time. I took a slightly different one also but still liked this because it was camera relevant.

This is what wildlife photography is like a lot of the times, a peek into their world. A mother black bear was digging for bugs in a log with her three cubs. The other two cubs were hidden behind them in this picture and it was impossible to get the entire family together.
Some alone time is needed......
