Lamaha trench, North Cummingsburg, Georgetown, Guyana. The rail line used to run along the trench, but it has long since been abandoned, with families moving onto the land and setting up home.
They have 24 flavors, but only make a few flavors each day. Not cheap at $30 a dozen, but they were so good!
This is one of the canals in Georgetwon... A city very much different from other cities I have seen in the US...
Georgetown in Penang is famous for its street art. We followed a map to find a lot of them, this was one of my favourites.

Georgetown is a mining town in Colorado. It's not too far from Denver. Gold mines were used here as early as 1859 and a few years later silver was found. Before the 1893 silver boom collapse there were 10,000 people is this town, and area. Most of them then moved Denver.
The elevation is about 8500. The population now is about 1000. The main part of town is about one square mile. There is also a well known train tour through a loop here, but I did not take it.
There are plenty of old buildings and victorian houses, shops, restaurants and museums, churches and the old school house. The town still keeps it's old small town charm.
There were a couple movies filmed here, including one that shows this colonial post office. The movie with the PO was Phantoms in 1998. Any Which Way But Loose with Clint Eastwood had some parts filmed here. It was the scene with the showdown of Clint's character and the Black Widows motorcycle gang. Also a Christmas TV movie with John Denver was filmed here.
I took about a dozen photos and will post them. I'd like to go back one day in the morning. I had the sun on half of the town, leaving the other half shaded and dark.

While trying to find a specific vantage point I came across this cool stairwell coming up from the canal.
Georgetown has a gritty side...who knew? haha
This one is 95% one frame, but I did stack a second exposure underexposed by 2/3 of a stop or so. I used it to bring back some detail on the top of the concrete barrier/railing since that area was catching lots of light from the cars/street lights.
Georgetown Steamplant is a historical landmark of Seattle. Saturday morning with Urban Sketchers Seattle! It was bright sunny day with cool breeze. Though spring in air! The Rainier view in the backdrop of concrete structure, noise of aircrafts, helicopters flying in the blue sky as well as contrail of aircrafts too. Inside the plant it was very cold and overwhelming view of pumps, valves and machines.
What to do with an imperfect original photo ??
Cropped the original, applied oil painting filter from ACDsee, and brightened slightly.
Rule 22: Don't discard your fuzzy photos.
This was an out-of-focus shot that I was about to discard.
Located on the Sampit River, Harborwalk Marina is only a boardwalk away from Georgetown's Historic District, great food, shopping, etc. A safe harbor from bad weather and located in calm waters protected by an island on one side and the City of Georgetown's Harborwalk on the other, the Harborwalk Marina is close to numerous restaurants, laundromats, stores and shops.

On Friday of 23rd February, 1945, fire destroyed many businesses in Water Street, including the Fogarty’s Building. On October 19, 1950, the new building that is the present store reopened its doors to the public with 24 Departments.
For our grandson's 8th birthday, we took him up to Georgetown, Colorado on Saturday to ride the 1800's narrow gauge steam train on the "Georgetown Loop", and tour the silver mine there. We're not sure who had more fun...us or him! What a blast! The sound of the train whistle echoing off the mountains was a thrill and the scenery was gorgeous. We've lived in Colorado all our lives, but this was the first time we'd done this. As the train crossed the iron suspension bridge 90 feet above a rushing creek, our grandson turned to us and said, "This is the best birthday I ever had in my entire life!"
