Cardon, commander of U.S. Army Cyber Command and Second Army, speaks with students, faculty and graduates in the security studies program at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service, on the university campus in Washington, D.C., Feb. 12. First attempt of a watercolor painting on my pocket Moleskine watercolour notebook. Had not been doing watercolor for more than 15-20 years already. And lately I have been thinking of picking up the skill again.
This piece was painted with a reference from an old building photo I took in Georgetown, Penang during my recently trip there.
Tools / materials :
TomBow 2B recycled pencil

1975: The first operating season of the new Georgetown Loop operates on a small portion of completed track.
1977: The line slowly lengthens from Silver Plume and tracks reach the upper end of Devil’s Gate.
1978: The historic buildings at the Lebanon mine are reconstructed and opened to the public and visitors. The Lebanon Mill is stabilized and rebuilt through the Society’s work with historians, archaeologists and a preservation architect.
1982: A $1 million grant from the Boettcher Foundation, in honor of E. Warren Willard, a former partner of Boettcher & Company and a board member of the Colorado Historical Society (today's History Colorado), finances the final segment of the railroad’s reconstruction, the Devil’s Gate High Bridge.
It has been a long time since I had a chance to wander through downtown Georgetown, plus I couldn't say no to a beautiful day! The sun was shining, the weather though a little cold was still good. Plus the streets were nice and quiet.
The Old Armoury is a wood frame post and beam structure of approximately 5,000 square feet which was built by the village of Georgetown in 1866 as a Drill Hall for the local militia. It was designed by well-known Canadian Pacific Railway engineer Walter Moberly. In 1890 the structure was relocated from the Market Square area a few blocks away to its present spot in the Georgetown Fairgrounds Park. The Town of Halton Hills purchased The Old Armoury in 1997 from the Department of National Defence. The Town had hoped to find a tenant for the building but it remained vacant, used only for park equipment storage and as a bad weather shelter for some Fall Fair displays. Today it is home the Globe Theatre.

It was a little cold to be out shooting. But I had a clear day with even light, so why not shoot in a small area that I haven't shot much. Welcome to downtown Georgetown.

I recently had the opportunity to serve as the photographer for the Etihad Airways Triathlon event at Georgetown Cupcake. Not only did I have fun interacting with the customers, staff, and flight attendants, but I had the opportunity to witness the behind-the-scenes to the gourmet cupcake making process. And yes, I was full from cupcakes at the end of this shoot!
