Following fertilisation of fish eggs, the initial stage of embryonic development allows rapid accumulation of new cells. As cleavage occurs, the cells will divide at 10-15 minute intervals, to form a mass of identical cells called morula. In case of the Rohu, it will takes about two to three hours time, as it is seen in the picture.
