My eyeball. Genetics has decided that I may not have lovely thick eye lashes. It has decided that I must sport spindly long thin ones instead.

One of THREE of my exclusives this year for Skin Fair, opening March 10th!
I've had a few requests over the years to do a genetics set like this, and I had my other items done early (not typical lol) so I had some extra time to make this 80+ layer genetics set. It includes layers in each of my skin tones for a perfect shade match if you're wearing one of my skins, and otherwise you can choose the closest match and further tint for a perfect match to other stores tones. Some of the other more basic layers are pure white (they come pre-tinted) and FULLY tintable, so you can play with those as well.
If you're part of the Lelutka group, you'll have early access to skin fair starting RIGHT NOW! I am located at booth B046, straight ahead and one store to the left from the landing point :)

If you are in my VIP group, or in the Juniper Events group, you can find my skin fair demos in group notices!
As I recall it was a lovely day to go bird watching, but for some strange reason we had the eerie feeling that we were the ones being watched.
I glanced behind me and upwards and there was an Osprey nest and in it a lovely specimen of a bird with what looked like binoculars attached to its' feathery head.
We wanted to stare back in defiance to this act of bird voyeurism but we left out of a concern that the large eyed spy would start tweeting his friends.
I will keep an eye out for this feathery foe next time I'm at Cabelas.
Osprey in Invermere, British Columbia - perhaps the product of a genetics experiment gone awry.
"We are scientists
We do genetics
We leave religion
To the psychos and fanatics
But we are tired
We got nothing to believe in
We are lost
Go tell the women that we are leaving."
words by Grinderman.
"We simply won't know what contribution man-flippers could make to our military without thorough testing dammit!"
Strangely, there was never any shortage of volunteers for the experimental genetics program at Blacktron. If you ever dreamed of having a scorpion tail or detachable eyeballs, this is surely the program for you.
no credit on this one, but there are 3 more this year coming. credit will appear on the photo which was a "staged" piece, as opposed to a flat painting. seven covers for genetics shot in total.
this happens when you have white and purple next to each other, you get ‘mixed’ ones: whurple??? LOLOLOL
Asters are almost the latest flowers in the garden here, still some colour though, despite the weather.
The most popular asters are Monte Casino and the New England aster.
Asters range in colours of white, red, pink, purple, lavender and blue.
Like the sunflower, the Aster flower is actually a collection of very tiny tubular flowers, which are grouped together in a central disk and surrounded by a “ray” of flowers or petals.
Asters are one of the easiest garden perennials to cultivate.
Have a wonderful day, and thank you for your time and comments, M, (*_*)

Against all odds given his crappy genetics, Gurky turned 12, yohoo! He’s the only one of our crew who came with a fancy pedigree, so that’s how we know his father passed at 8, his mother did not make it to 12 and that even one of his sisters died at 6! Yep, his breeder was looking for excellence and believed champions, no matter the slight health issues they may carry, could only be a match made in heaven…
Even if Gurk is missing an eye and is blind because of a serious genetic disorder, has a screw loose, a wrecked digestive track and very bad skin, our love and care through the years proved to be, in fact, the recipe he needed to make up for the failed concoction he was the product of.
No matter the ups and downs, we are glad he ended up with us. He’s our rescue in disguise.
I'm sandwiched between my Dad who rode to work everyday to save money and raise 7 kids and put them through school. He installed a calm yet efficient work ethic and believed so much in educating others that my brother left his basketball carreer overseas to teach highschool. Mr D is lucky to have the davenport bike lane at his footsteps. I am the first son, of a father who was also a first son, who now has his first grandson to carry on the genes.. A strong foundation to hold up these walls.
love you dad.

Female Tree Swallow: How many times did I suggest it? How many? But noooooooooo...you don't need to ask for directions. Your "built-in GPS" is working just fine. You know exactly where you're going. Then I ask you, 'Where's the rest of the flock?' And you say they must have made a wrong turn. Now look at this! You males are impossible! Where are we? I have no idea, but I do know this is definitely NOT Capistrano...
Male Tree Swallow: Are you sure?
_____________
[Yes, for you sticklers, I know it is cliff swallows as opposed to tree swallows that return to Capistrano, but a little poetic license, please. Another of the early returnees who must be finding the current conditions more than difficult. Remarkably, the snow has continued today, but supreme being willing, we will see the forecasted 70s by Sunday.]
There is nothing really special about these photos, but I love seeing how much I look like my mom. Not sure if it comes out as much in here, but now we are starting to get comments like,
"Now which one is the mother?"
Now that I look at this pic again. You really cannot see much similarity. bummer.
Created in DDG Text 2 Dream using its new "Artistic" Ai model.
Source is my DDG work below.
Filters: PSE21 and Topaz Studio.
Some hand painting.
I have to say that it bothers me more than a little that Ai made her white, but the historical fact is that Sandro Botticelli most likely painted few or no beautiful women of color, and it is his style that was within my prompt, so the fault is mostly mine for asking it to do so.
Thanks for your visit, faves, and kind comments.
Built for genetics class at university.
This concept may look ugly, but it sure looks correct. Since this is not an artistic interpretation, the details have to be just right. I will still have to rework this, but at least I see that the technique allows me to create the shape I want.
I might put this up on LEGO ideas. I know there are a million DNA models there, but mine is actually made properly.
I made this as a presentation to my genetics professor. She was so impressed by the craftsmanship, that she hardly noticed how little I knew.
All the bases are colour-coded and at the bottom there is a nucleotide model with phosphate group (P), sugar (S) and base (B) marked. The pyrimidines and purines are distingueshed by the lighter/darker gray part. The model represents the B configuration, but can be reworked, although with much effort, into any other. I would enjoy keeping this built forever, but sadly it literally only uses my favourite pieces (minus the baseplate).
GENETICS... RED+YELLOW= A RED AND YELLOW ROSE, LOL...
Again fun from studio Indigo.
Have a happy day, M, (*_*)

Ebbinghaus illusion overestimation (Zhu, 2020)
Most people perceive the orange circle on the right as bigger than the orange circle on the left. They are actually the same size.
Brain
Mind
SUMMARY
Identification of 70 genetics variants associated with Ebbinghaus illusion overestimation.
RESULTS
51st
PERCENTILE
of Nebula Genomics users for genetic predisposition to Ebbinghaus illusion overestimation
OVERVIEW
Our brain and eyes work together to process visual information about our surroundings. Information, such as the size of faraway objects, is interpreted by the brain by analyzing other visual cues such as the sizes of known objects next to it. However, sometimes the brain’s interpretation may be incorrect which can result in optical illusions. One such optical illusion is known as the Ebbinghaus illusion. When a circle is surrounded by other circles, it may appear larger or smaller than its real size depending on the sizes of the surrounding circles.
Victorian Mallee.
A very rare species throughout the far east of its range. So much so that it remained undetected for two decades in the mallee region of western Victoria, despite thorough survey effort by some of the most experienced mallee herpetologists. Extensive and inappropriate 'planned burning' regimes are the cause for the species demise throughout most of its former Victorian distribution. Surveys re-started in 2017 and, incredibly, one individual (deceased) was discovered in a long-unburnt patch of mallee heathlands. Fast forward to 2023, with funding backed by Zoos Victoria's Fighting Extinction project, intensive surveys we have uncovered 5 of these small, elusive elapids. A population genetics study is now underway and surveys will continue to search for new populations.

The 10th FLOWER & GARDEN FESTIVAL 2016 YANBU AL SINAIYAH OCCASION PARK, Saudi Arabia.
When I saw this rose I thought that it was not a real one. However, I was told that it was. I was also told that this rose was a result of “Genetic Mutation” I must admit it was strange, however, it was a real beauty.
Hope you like it.

I shot San Jose for San Francisco magazine this month. This is one of my shots for that shoot. You can see my shots in the current "Best of San Francisco" issue. The shot of "Cupid's Span" on the cover of the magazine this month is mine too.
The California Towhee, (Melozone crissalis), is a bird of the family Emberizidae, native to the coastal regions of western Oregon and California in the United States and Baja California Sur in Mexico.
The taxonomy of this species has been debated. At the higher level, some authors place the towhees in the family Fringillidae. Within the group, there has been debate about whether the distinction between this species and the similar Canyon Towhee, Melozone fuscus, should be at the specific or subspecific level. The two populations are quite isolated from each other, and molecular genetics seems to have settled the matter in favour of two distinct species for the present. On the other hand there seems to be little distinction between the northern and Baja Californian populations within M. crissalis.
The California Towhee's coloring is dull brown overall with light rust undertail coverts and buff or rust colored streaks at the throat. There is little sexual dimorphism. It is around 20–25 cm in length, and has a noticeably long tail. Its appearance suggests a large, plain sparrow.
