The gates to Strawberry Field, an orphanage near John Lennon's home. The orphanage was torn down a long time ago and two years ago a band of gypsies stole they gates. They returned them two hours later because they realized they didn't know anyone who would buy them. Liverpool, England.

Kensington Palace, in West London dates from the early 17th century, and was built as the London residence of the Earl of Nottingham. In 1689 it was acquired for £18,000 by King William III and Queen Mary.
Barnet Gate Mill is located at Arkley, TQ217943 in the garden of a private house, London Borough of Barnet. She was built in 1826, 4 storeys high, with an ogee cap and gallery. She has two patent and two common sails, and worked by wind until 1918. She was restored in 1930, and two missing sails were replaced in 1985.
The original city gates of St. Augustine. One of our tour guides told us that in the teens or twenties (can't remember exactly) a ladies group petitioned and protested against demolishing the gates. Fortunately they prevailed.

One of the suspension towers of the Golden Gate Bridge looms over traffic on a beautiful August afternoon.
Driving across the bridge was wonderful because the bridge is such an iconic part of the San Francisco and it's simply enormous! Maybe next time I'll walk across it's 1.7 mile length. If you're interested in finding out more, the Wikipedia page is a mine of information!
The Hadrian's Gate or Üçkapılar ("The Three Gates" in Turkish) is a triumphal arch located in Antalya, Turkey, which was built in the name of the Roman emperor Hadrian, who visited the city in the year 130. It has three arched gates. According to local legend, Sultan Belkis, the Queen of Sheba, is said to have passed under those gates and enjoyed a happy day in the palace in Aspendos on her way to visit King Solomon. Formerly the city walls enclosed the outside of the gate and it was not used for many years. This may be the reason why it has not been harmed, and it was only revealed when the walls collapsed. It is considered as Pamphylia's most beautiful gate. The upper part has three apertures in the shape of a cupola, and except for the pillars is built entirely of white marble. The ornamentation is very striking. The original gate was two storeys but little is known of the top storey.
On either side of the gate are towers, which are known not to have been built at the same time. The southern one is known as the Julia Sancta tower and is a work of the Hadrian era. It was constructed of plain stone blocks. While the base of the northern tower belongs to antiquity, the upper part is left over from the Seljuk period.
