I had to go out of this pedestrian gate to go to my car parked in the "brown" car park. This young woman was there to check that those entering had New Wine passes.
Pembroke Castle Gatehouse from
Westgate Hill A4139, coast road between Pembroke Dock and Tenby, in Pembroke.
Henry VII was born in this castle, 1457.
This iron gate was on the former concrete grandstand.(now the Upper Grandstand).
It was at the bottom of the center stairs, leading out on the track.
I have an old photo from the 1967 Jacktown Fair showing this gate in place.

The Wall that stretches across the city of Gibraltar, erected to keep out Blackbeard the Pirate (amongst others) from pillaging the city. Given the mass rock in the background, I fail to see how a small wall would stop anyone.
If you went to the Tower of London and you entered by these gates, the future might not have fared well for you.

too much exposure, however the photo came out with an interesting, almost 3D texture as if it was oil painted. a shame the scan doesn't pick it up. This shot was taken at the front gate of an old gothic mansion. There are two of these stone ornaments and they sit atop the gate's entrance piers. i had to climb the gate to get close enough (about 3-4 feet)
