Designed by San Francisco architect Willis Polk, the beach Chalet opened to the public in 1925 with a lounge and changing rooms on the ground floor and a restaurant above, providing diners with magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean. The extraordinary murals, mosaics, and wood carvings were added in 1936 as part of a federal works program. A few years later the building was pressed into wartime service as a barracks for the troops operating a nearby signal station. Today, the building and the art treasures welcome visitors from around the world to explore Golden Gate Park.
I read an article that mentioned that these chairs were supposedly inspired by the Golden Gate Bridge. I can kind of see how that could be the case.

Gate E was on the North side of the stadium. If you wanted to get in fast, this is where you went. If you are familiar with Cleveland, we have no North. North is Lake Erie, so this Gate never had a huge crowd outside. November 1996.
The Pile Gate has for centuries been the main entrance to the town of Dubrovnik. The name is said to come from the Greek word "pyle" which itself means "gate".
The outer gate, dating back to 1537, is approached over a bridge across a protective moat, and is further defended by a drawbridge.
Until the conquest of Ragusa by Napoleon's armies and abolition of the Republic of Ragusa, the wooden drawbridge to the Pile Gate was hoisted each night with considerable pomp in a ceremony which delivered the city's keys to the Rector of the Republic.
Both the two leaves of the gate itself and drawbridge are still functional and part of the mechanism for raising the bridge can been seen in the photograph.
For the travel weary- every airport, bus stop and hotel room starts to look the same. But for me everything will always be different. It all depends on how you look at it.

The Powder Tower or Powder Gate (Czech: Prašná brána) is a Gothic tower in Prague, Czech Republic. It is one of the original city gates, dating back to the 11th century. It is one of the symbols of Prague, leading into the Old Town.
The gate was used to store gunpowder in the 17th century, hence the name Powder Tower or Powder Gate. The gate suffered considerable damage during the Battle of Prague. The sculptures on the tower were replaced in 1876.
