A veteran squad has their gasmasks ready for immediate use. All but two have been awarded the Iron Cross Second Class and the one on the far right has already given a finger digit for the Fatherland.
Nothing on reverse.
Circa mid 1915 or later, men of a Train-Bataillon or similar outfit receive instruction in the correct use of the M1915 gasmask.
Most of the rank and file on parade wear a Model 1908 Dienstmütze mit Schirm (visored cap) and the simplified M1907/10 tunic with folded cuffs.
