Gas Mask

Respirator or gas mask of the type issued to civilians during Second World War (WWII). The respirator has a rubber face mask with plastic window and three webbing straps to hold it in place. Protruding canister at front contains the filters."VRC 9.39/ M728" is printed below the window. Cardboard storage box has instructions for use in lid.

Donor from Whitburn - he never used the mask but carried it with him at all times.
