Madrid's El Rastro flea market is full of strange and wonderful things. I initially processed this image in colour - the masks were a combination of military olive green and flesh tones - but decided that this black-and-white treatment is better. To my mind it focuses attention on the grotesque and strangely humorous forms of the masks, while colour was a distraction.
