Questo 2018 è stato un anno poco bamboloso. Ho acquistato poco, giocato poco, ed ho avuto un lungo periodo di smago/disinteresse. Però devo dire questa insolita rossa dai contrasti forti è stata una fantastica scoperta! L'avevo acquistata per il corpo curvy snodato, da destinare ad un'altra bambola. Dopo un po' la testina è spuntata da un cassetto ed ho capito che su un corpo standard sarebbe stata molto più bella, perchè il viso stonava un po' con il suo corpo originale... Così invece è perfetta e la adoro!

Someone else made a Rubik's Cube using Lego dice so that plan was scrapped and we came up with the newer version, which is semi functional and 3 sections can be turned.
Scale is almost 1:1, it's smaller by 1/8"
I had a thought about taking off someone else's eyeglasses as an act of intimacy, as an invited invasion of personal space and the care someone has to take to do it. The intention was undone because action figure hands can't hold something as fragile as eyeglasses frames well, and because the posing just comes off weird. I tried a bunch of different ways to address all these, and this was only shot that even came close to what I was thinking of. (hint: it's not anywhere close to what I was thinking of).
But hey, I like the artful covering of all the naughty bits and the hint at his butt.

Ever since I first saw these sculptures at the De Young Museum in San Francisco, I've been trying to capture them. However, my cameras and I were never quite up to the task. You can't use any kind of flash as you'll lose the shadows. Finally, with the 40D I managed. She's a wonderful artist - check her out: Ruth Asawa.
