I don't know this girl. I think she might be a second-grade kid,

but she was the best of the jumpers out there on Wednesday.

I volunteered for yard duty at recess, which means I stand

still for an hour and pray nothing goes wrong. Every twenty

minutes, I or someone else rings the bell, and a new shift of

kids comes out.

My other job is to enforce the rules of four square. You can't

believe how the older kids play. They actually hold the ball

before they pass it. That's right; they catch it. They let it bounce

several times in their spaces, and they have do-overs all the

time. It is really just a chance for this one girl clique to hog

the ball and not let anyone else play.

So I yell things like, "You're out!" "Hey, you! It bounced twice.

OUT." Etc.
