The Fortress Baths gems
From: The National Roman Legion Museum, South Wales
These Roman gemstones were lost during the period between AD 75 and AD 230. This remarkable collection of 88 gems (one of the largest single deposits to be found anywhere in Roman Empire) were found in the sediments of a large drain beneath the cold hall of the baths. They would have originally been set in finger-rings. Most belonged to the legionary soldiers, but some may have been lost by the civilians and women who were also admitted to the baths.
This image forms part of the monthly 'Curators Choice' series from Rhagor, the collections based website from Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales.
What will your favourite item be?
He sells imitation glass stones his clientele is very poor believes stones will get rid of bad luck .
During the pandemic
Nothing works ..
Maybe stones will
Change his destiny
Bring him luck
In a mire of misfortune
The poor man stuck
The gemstone seller
Serves him stones
As a placebo
Under the sun
Till one day
The pandemic
Is conquered
And good days
Return ..

Gemstones fractal. It´s not Art. It´s just the result of iterating a mathematical expression in the complex plane.

I craft nature and fantasy inspired jewelry using wire and natural gemstones. These are some of my pendants.

This large treasure box was created with mini polished gemstones in Van Gogh glass borders. The sides are mini tiles, glass tile, and gemstones. Iridescent stained glass is under the lid inside the box. Ball chain edging.
Here is another of my mini seahorses with a slightly different twist. Instead of using a combination of silver and gemstone beads to fill the body, I used ALL gemstones. Over 100 tiny faceted tundra sapphire rondels fill the head and neck, and fan across the arched neck and spiral tail, and a golden briolette of Baltic amber suggests a belly full of babies. The dorsal fin is a rich red, faceted briolette of rhodolite garnet, and bright red rubies make the eyes.
