The stone in the centre is pinolith, a rare semi-precious stone found in just a few locations in Europe. It is comprised of dolomite, white magnesite crystals that give the distinctive pattern and graphite. The stone on the left is polished crazy lace agate
The Geisel Library is the main library building of the University of California San Diego Library. It is named in honor of Audrey and Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss.
