It trails a bit and after 3 or 4 years I still don't feel I have quite got the best out of it, although the cuttings take and flower consistently...

My over ambitious mind went into overdrive this week! I came up with 2 ideas for the SPRING theme. This one is called Confetti! It features a Large Pink Amethyst Briolette, a sterling silver circle charm that I handmade and handstamped (with a tiny Lemon Topaz oval briolette), and a wirewrapped circle of gemstones (pink amethyst, scallopite, pink tourmaline, iolite with a single large london blue topaz rondelle).

Gemstones – (any precious or semi-precious stone)

Gemstones are minerals that have been cut and polished for use as human adornment. Diamonds and rubies, topaz and amethyst are a few examples.

Not to be confused with "The Righteous Gemstones"

For the Gemstones Theme I opened a box of cabochons my wife keeps for her jewelry making hobby. HSoS!

Tumbled gemstones are small, rounded, polished pieces of rock. They are made by placing raw precious and semi-precious stones in a machine resembling a concrete mixer and tumbled until their edges and surfaces are smooth and polished. The gemstones are appreciated for their pleasant shapes and their shimmering reflections.

These gems are not even worth a halfpenny, which is the coin in the picture. This coin is a 1917 halfpenny.

The pre-decimal halfpenny, usually simply known as a ha'penny ceased to be legal tender from the 31st July 1969.

EI-GPP "Saint Ita " is seen up on the wild atlantic way Donegal ( Carrickfinn ) Airport having positioned in to begin operations on the Donegal-Dublin route on 26th Feb 2022.

Swedish Amapola Flyg are finishing up on the route 25th Feb 2022, their Fokker50 SE-MFP can be seen in the background.

EI-GPP originally started out with FlyBe in 2016 as G-FBXE & has been operating with SAS & Stobart previously.

Using the calling sign "Emerald " which is a nice salute back to the days of a previous cargo operator Emerald Airlines with

their HS748 aircraft.

Best wishes to them as they reconnect regional connectivity in Ireland & the UK.

Special thanks for the ground staff at Carrickfinn Airport for allowing some extra photo opportunities during a visit.

This week, the members of the Wire Artisans Guild's challenge is to create jewelry with the theme of: WHIRLIGIG! This necklace is my interpretation of the theme. It's more of a Dr. Suess kinda interpretation but I wanted to create something that's fun and colorful! I hope you like it. It is a one of a kind piece of jewelry!

I first soldered various swirls of sterling silver wire to create the base pendant. I then used my stash of "orphan" gemstone beads (various gemstone beads that have been lying around in a box from other projects) to add the pop of color and whimsy to the piece. A few of the gemstones in this necklace include: Labadorite, Peridot, Citrine, Blue Topaz, Aquamarine, Rock Crystal, Lemon Topaz, Pink Sapphire, Neon Blue Apatite, Freshwater pearls, Amethyst Chalcedony, Garnet, and a Smooth Prehnite briolette at the bottom. OK, so I pretty much named them all!

The pendant hangs assymetrically on the neck (which adds to the Dr. Suess inspiration) and has a doubled SS link chain. The pendant measures 3 inches high and 2 1/2 inches wide. But remember it sits assymetrical so the dimension on the neck will be different depending on how you place it on the neck. The length of the necklace is 16-17 inches and has a sterling silver S hook.
