Sent to Tamelyn for Passover - see the fun here.

No disrespect meant to anyone's religion, but I saw these at the grocery store and felt compelled to take a picture with my phone.

The Ten Plagues finger puppets. Fun & Educational. I can see it playing out now...

*I've got Boils!

*No, I want Boils!

*Too late! I've already got Boils!

*Mom, he won't give me Boils!

Feel free to add notes and/or tags with all the plagues listed to help educate me.

FYI - there was also the Passover Bag of Plagues with what appeared to be little plastic plagues.

beautiful artwork on the bally classic pinball Wizard. Artwork rendered by same artist that did the classic Fireball. Backglass depicts Roger Daltry and Ann Margrett.

Nathan and Hayke

On my way to the 'Oklahoma beach' I came across some other folks exploring the weather as well. I mentioned I was out looking for photos and asked how they came to the lake. The woman on the left just mentioned being crazy. 'The best type of people', I said.

Shot of Ananth having fun on this chair which he takes all over the house and uses it as way to climb and reach things he cant. he even uses our dinner chair to scale greater heights.

I had told Pam that I had been making a cup of hot tea at work daily, and for sweetener I just dropped 3-4 of these mint sugar candies into the hot tea. I told her it was fun to watch them dissolve and move around in the hot tea; (but then I don’t get out much). As the tea cooled it gave the tea a sweet minty taste to help it.

But then it raises a few questions; when the hot tea is very hot why do the sugar candies drop to the bottom of the tea first? But then after they dissolve for a while they come floating to the top? Then eventually, they seem to stop dissolving. Time to read the tea leaves.

Remember water molecules H2O; those little molecules vibrate at a much faster and greater rate when the water in the tea water is very hot. The hotter the water the faster the molecules jump around and they thusly need more space between them so they are farther apart. As they jump around farther apart because the water is very hot there is more space between them and this water is actually lighter than cold water because of the space between the molecules. This lighter hotter water is called less dense. Since the hot water first has more space between the molecules and is less dense, the sugar molecules can actually fit much easier as the sugar dissolves. These hot water molecules jumping around actually break the candy sugar apart at the bottom of the cup. The water is no longer just water, but because the sugar is dissolving, it is becoming a solution or mixture of sugar and water. These hot water molecules just keep jumping and bumping into each other breaking the sugar candy down little by little transferring the heat energy to the sugar solution. As the sugar candy gets smaller and the sugar solution gets more concentrated, it becomes what we call homogenously distributed in the tea water or mixed alike into one new solution (sweeter tea). When the tea in the bottom of the cup has dissolved as much sugar as it possibly can and there is no more room, the solution is then said to be saturated. Now the sugar candy will do what we call diffusion. Diffusion is where there is a movement of a substance from an area of high concentration to an area of lower concentration. Since all the sugar dissolved first on the bottom, now that the sugar candy is less dense, it rises to the top where there is less sugar. The dissolving will really slow down again then as the top of the tea reaches its saturation point. I do not really want to get into, (Energy equals Mass times the speed of light squared) here, but briefly, the heat is energy and energy relates to mass. Remember, energy has weight, and as the water cools, you take away the energy, so you also take away the mass. In other words, the molecules are moving and jumping less, less space in between them now, and they are getting closer together as it cools. Renita, I hope you can use this for a school lesson for the kids, from PopPop. Be sure to tell them that Jehovah God and his son Christ Jesus knew all about this way before Einstein.
