this is a shot of one of the fountains in Trafalgar Square and was actually pre-planned/visualised something along these lines. the setting sun provided the golden cast ... no saturation tweaks required :)

i feel like the person who tries to sell the grilled cheese sandwich shaped like elvis in profile on ebay ~grin~ .......been saving this for just the right occasion-- it is a French's french fried onion ring crisp, the sort of garnish that you put on a green bean casserole. and, when i spotted its unique heart shape, i knew it was destined for big things.

PERSONAL FUN FACT: I believe I got this dress and the coordinating bag during the spring of 2012. It was being donned by one of my 80s Barbies who was part of a small lot. This was shortly after my dad passed away that May. My cousin and his now wife went with me and my sister to the local flea market. That morning, I spotted a cardboard box with 80s Barbies right near the exit of the flea market. The dolls were affordable, so I was able to buy the whole lot for around $10 if I'm not mistaken (it's been years, so my memory is fuzzy). Anyways, most of the ladies were still sporting their original fashions. There were only two or three who were improperly dressed, but still wearing 80s outfits of some kind. I want to say this was on the 1985 Tropical Barbie, who had cut hair. I was very excited to acquire this amazing 1980s fashion pack. The red color and striped details gave this a nautical feel. It is without a doubt the kind of thing I would have loved playing with as a kid. It was also a bonus that I found the corresponding handbag in the bottom of the box. There really weren't any extra accessories or clothes, so this was an exceptional treasure to acquire. Sadly, I didn't know how to properly launder doll clothes at the time. I recall soaking everything in super hot water with diluted bleach. Red fabric is notorious for bleeding as it is...combine that with hot water and corrosive bleach and it is bound to fade the dress. I am bummed out that I damaged this outfit, but that didn't stop me from using it. My childhood Loving You Barbie (a Salvation Army rescue) wore this for quite sometime...until I reunited her with that original heart printed getup! In all the years since, I still have yet to find another dress like this one. Hopefully, one day I can find a fresher looking version that I will properly clean this time!

What I wanted most for my daughter was that she be able to soar confidently in her own sky, whatever that may be.~Helen Claes
