The Strawberry Moon.
Not my planned composition. The thick low clouds prevented that so I had to settle for this. My new 150-450 performed well when I could get it out of the wind. Challenging shooting last night.

Woodhead Reservoir, taken mid November and full to the top again. The shot in the comment below was taken in August (with my phone) from more or less the same spot - ithe water level was lower then than I'd ever seen it before.
Got our PC back this morning (a custom built desktop, not a laptop) now expensively fixed with a new motherboard and CPU. Fortunately nothing lost - just a few tweaks needed to get everything back to normal, I think - thank goodness! Will attempt to catch up with everyone soon.
All those golden autumn days the sky was full of wings. Wings beating low over the blue water of Silver Lake, wings beating high in the blue air far above it . . . bearing them all away to the green fields in the South.

Third and last image in this short Moon series...
Captured 15 minutes after moonrise, the setting sun's rays were creating this pink and blue pastels, doubling the wonder of the golden moon.
Unlike the last two moon images where my telephoto was zoomed all the way out, here my telephoto was barely zoomed at all, allowing me to get more of the pretty sky surrounding the full January moon.
I was particularly pleased with the thin, horizontal clouds just above the moon, giving more interest and detail for the viewer to enjoy.

You would think this photo had been converted into black and white but no I have only changed the levels and add a vignette, it was a rather gray day we went to the beach.
Definitely not sunbathing weather.

It's a very beautiful flower, and obviously a sweet one. :)

"Full Moon" variety of Japanese maple at Winterthur House and Gardens. One of my very favorite trees. So glad to get to see it in it's autumn splendor.

Full Flow
We have just spent the last few days in Glencoe in which we had some mixed conditions weather wise. This is the River Coupall looking towards Buachaille Etive Mor, heavy rain over the previous days lead to a very full flowing river and with late afternoon light helping to enhance the mood.
