Cakalang Fufu - Smoked skipjack Tuna is favorite fish dish commonly served in the family and person who grew up from eastern part of indonesia. I found someone from easterner as me open a stand nearby the residence I live and took the picture for you :)

Skipjack tuna is used extensively in Japanese cuisine, where it is known as katsuo (鰹 or かつお). Besides being eaten seared (katsuo tataki, 鰹のタタキ) and raw in sushi (寿司 or すし) and sashimi (刺身 or さしみ), it is also smoked and dried to make katsuobushi（鰹節 or かつおぶし）, the central ingredient in dashi (出汁 or だし) (a common Japanese fish stock). It is also a key ingredient in katsuo no shiokara (塩辛 or しおから).
In Indonesian cuisine, skipjack tuna is known as cakalang. Most popular dish from skipjack tuna is cakalang fufu from eastern part of Indonesia. It is a cured and smoked skipjack tuna clipped on a bamboo frame.[13] Skipjack is also integral to Maldivian cuisine.

Fufu is made from cassava roots by peeling, washing, boiling, and pounding them into a dough-like consistency. It is one of the most commonly consumed forms of cassava in Nigeria.

When we adopted XingXing and FuFu from KittyKind (www.kittykind.org), they told us that they were 10 weeks old, so without a whole bunch of precision we counted backwards and decided their birthday was 8/21/2009. On their first birthday last year they strode forward from kittenhood to the fraternity of adult Catdom amongst a rousing celebration that included candles, copious volumes of Whiskas-brand artificial cat milk, marching bands, balloons, banners dragged by aircraft all across the Eastern seaboard of the USA, and fireworks displays by a number of cat-friendly municipalities within a 150-mile radius of NYC. This year, however, their landmark 2nd birthday passed without much fanfare due to their humans decamping to Europe for a vacation, a hurricane scare, and then finally another human dash to the beach over Labor Day Weekend. So with all apologies, I wish XingXing and FuFu a belated happy birthday!

FuFu is the resident dog at the Wind and Water Gallery in the Houston Heights. She makes the place definitely worth a visit!She's the friendliest little dog, but fierce as can be if another dog walks past! I'm sorry I just can't remember what kind of dog they said she is.
