Kenmerken van oude Mercedes-sedans zijn onmiddellijk te herkennen in deze Chinese Shanghai. In de daklijn en in de portieren is het Mercedes-Benz ‘ponton’-model uit de jaren vijftig terug te vinden. Toch stamt deze Chinese sedan uit het midden van de jaren tachtig. Dit exemplaar is rechtstreeks van de fabriek in het Louwman Museum terechtgekomen. Hij heeft nul kilometer op de teller en het fabrieksplastic zit nog over de bekleding heen.
De Shanghai-autofabriek wordt opgericht in 1958 en sluit zijn deuren in 1991. Het type SH760, met een eveneens van een oude Mercedes afgeleide zescilinder lijnmotor, wordt in China voornamelijk gebruikt als taxi of als dienstauto voor de minder belangrijke leidinggevende figuren van de Communistische Partij. Hierna gaat Shanghai Volkswagen-modellen assembleren, inclusief de populaire Shanghai Santana.

A halo is an optical phenomenon that appears as a ring near or around the Sun or Moon. There are many types of optical halos, but they are mostly caused by ice crystals in cold cirrus clouds located high (5–10 km, or 3–6 miles) in the upper troposphere. The particular shape and orientation of the crystals is responsible for the type of halo observed. Light is reflected and refracted by the ice crystals and may split up into colors because of dispersion, similarly to the rainbow.
A sundog (scientific name parhelion for "beside the sun") is a common bright circular spot on a solar halo.

Es handelt sich dabei um einen Ring, der vom Beobachter aus 22° entfernt von der Sonne verläuft. Er tritt häufig zusammen mit Nebensonnen auf. Die englische Sprache bezeichnet sie sehr fantasievoll als sun dog (Sonnenhund). Die Bezeichnung spiegelt die Tatsache wider, dass Nebensonnen sich immer an der Seite der Sonne befinden.
