This photo was intended to be a front-lit closeup of a plant called Teasel. Duchemin says that front light is good for getting your bearings and catching shots focused more on the subject than the lighting. I think I accomplished that using a combination of natural light and shallow depth of field. This was cropped and has slightly boosted contrast, but otherwise edits are minimal.

This picture was taken using a frontlighting lighting arrangement. I took the picture of Japanese wedding ducks located in my sitting room. I turned off all the lights except those in front of the subject.
