Lighting comes in different types as in: Frontlight, Sidelight, Backlight, Overhead Light, Shade. I think I have improved in this because it's easier to take pretty pictures when the sun is going down since it's summer time.

The sun could be classified as frontlighting for the covering. The shadow from the covering is less prevalent because he sun has moved from the morning shot. The brightness is still relatively there, but because it is becoming evening, the sun is beginning to set.
This picture was taken at about 6 o'clock with the sun as a frontlight. For this picture I wanted to capture the majority of my grandparents front deck. lots of happy memories with the whole family were made here. You can see this truck decoration that she has had for years, it makes the little boys happy to play with. The swing in the background is where me and my grandma enjoy the sun in the evenings. I hope this picture brings joy to the audience. Maybe it brings back memories of their own or helps them understand My point of view better.

idea: I liked how the light fixtures in city hall had these unique gold details and pretty glass bulbs. When I walked up to this lamp, I noticed that there was already a backlight from the window behind it and the lamp was also lit which provided a frontlight.
process: stood underneath the lamp to capture to focus on the details of the lamp and include the pillars in the back. used complementary colors (orange and blue) while color grading to make the back pillars a blue color and make the yellow in the lamp stands out.
