This is my friend, Debbie Muga, from Gainesville, Florida. She and one of my other FL photographer friends, Cheryl Brown, were waiting for me at the Tampa International Airport when I got in about 11 a.m. on 11/8/07. Debbie drove us to the pier at St. Petersburg, Florida, one of Cheryl and her favorite places to photograph when they get together.
I've known them both for a number of years from other photo websites before we met in person, but had the pleasure of meeting, socializing and photographing with them first in September 2003 when we, together with several other Florida photographer friends, one from the Pittsburgh, PA area, one from Montreal, Quebec, Canada and a then photojournalist from Israel, got together. Just as with this time, we had some memorable times together.
I also had the pleasure this time of meeting Debbie's smart, tall and handsome husband, Tony. They have been married about 3 years and it was obvious to me that they are well-suited and very much in love with each other. I say about 3 years as I know they are celebrating their 3rd wedding anniversary this month. I know it was before Christmas 3 years ago that they got married, but didn't remember to put the date into my on-line birthday/anniversary alarm set-up, so I don't know what the exact date it is (or was, as the case may be), so Happy Anniversary, Debbie and Tony, whenever - LOL!
I also had the pleasure of meeting Debbie's adorable little granddaughter, Cameron, and her "other grandmother" -- as they each call the other!!
Thank you for a great time, ladies and many happy memories!

It's handy having a friend who is also into photography, so we can go out together and don't get fed up or bored waiting for the other person to take photographs!

Some friends visited and we decided to join a political action by Move On to tell the president what we think about an important issue. Move On will deliver to the White House photos of people each holding the message. We decided to show our displeasure by looking stern.
I'm pleased with these portraits. They portraits look much better on black background.I've obscured the message because, happily, Flickr is not a political forum.
If you are interested in this action - here it is
Velma's been an online friend for years, but we hadn't planned to meet up at Maker Faire -- she just turned up! Or I just turned up! Whichever way you look at it, it was awesome. She's just like I thought she'd be; I think she feels the same.
Yay, internets, for bringing me friends.

The fence between me and the people who live behind me hasn't been repaired since Hurricane Ike, and that's how I came to meet this guy. I have a soccer goal in the backyard and when I shoot around he just sits and watches
Kathleen and her girlfriend Nikki were getting ready to go out to a friend's birthday party. Kathleen asked me to take some photos of them. This is one that I played with...and they enjoyed having some "silly" photos to remember the evening.
This is another stamp set that my friend bought for my birthday! I just love the images and sayings... so simple, yet so elegant! Of course I had to use it for this month's challenge :-)
My friend Sarah called me from Tucson. She'd just had a baby and wasn't able to come, so I was really happy to have been able to talk to her on the phone from the wedding. (Photo by Steven King)
