Today we said goodbye to our dear boy Hamish, the one and only Sminky Pinky. He fought the good fight, but sadly went down hill on Sunday. Rob took him to the vet early this morning, but his condition was such that there was nothing they could do for him. So at 3.30 pm this afternoon he crossed over over the rainbow bridge with Rob and I by his side to see him on his way. There are no words to articulate how sad we are, he has been with us for nearly half of our lives. Farewell old friend, sleep now, you have earned your rest.
My granddaughter Parker, to my delight, is very interested in photography. While she was getting some shots of the cattle in the pond, her good friend Popcorn, followed her every step.
Nearly two years since she passed over. Still much missed and much thought of. R.I.P.

This male Magpie has been my close friend since early 1990s. Still brings his girlfriend and produced many chicks until recent years. Now one or none each year that I know of. This week can only use one leg. Cannot see a problem with other. His problem is same problem as mine, OLD AGE. I will miss him very much eating from my hand and his daily calling for me.

My trusted Coolpix S3500 took its last photo the other day (So Close No Matter How Far). I pulled it out to take a shot of some interesting multiple ice layer patterns in a tire track today and it made some crunching sounds and the lens extended a quarter inch and twisted to about a 35 degree angle and froze there...
All my efforts to save it were for naught....
It has served me well for the last couple years. And I don't fault it at all. I'm really hard on my point and shoots. They are always at my side and I have taken many satisfying photos with them. This one had taken a couple Explored shots which I am very proud of.
This shot was one of the first ones taken with my new Nikon Coolpix S6800 (Thank you [https://www.flickr.com/photos/70769049@N07] for buying it for me, xoxo) and I am going to try and do a better job of protecting it from all the stuff that has beaten up its predecessors...

We lost Jess yesterday, she was 16yrs and 6months old and had been very ill for some weeks now, she was a loved family member and a friend. I shall miss her deeply, sleep well my friend.

I helped a friend take portraits at her daughter's school. As we were setting up, I took a couple of test shots of her. Flash and portraiture are not my strong suit but I was pleased enough with it.
