Indiana Railroad's Bear Run Mine to Hoosier Energy Merom Powerplant coal loads roll downgrade out of Sullivan, Indiana with a pair of the railroad's "new" SD70Ms on the point. After some low water trouble with the lead locomotive between Sullivan & Duggar, Engineer Chris Vasen now has the train rolling again only a few miles from spotting the train at the plant.
One of the first from Progress Rail at Muncie, Indiana, CN 8302 (originally 5689 when CN took delivery in fall of 1996) heads east through Attica, MI on M396 heading for Toronto under a clear blue Fall sky.
Enjoying the last summer days when I was laying down in the bokeh shaped grass.

The snow had stopped falling and the sky cleared overnight. Now the sun was bright and snow was still on some of the trees. The five Flatirons on the left, Saddle Rock on the right--shot from the upper Chautauqua Meadow.
I do regret being a bit of a couch potato and not going out to get storm photos this weekend. By late afternoon on Sunday I was craving some fresh air so I popped down to Mudeford.
I wasn't expecting such a beautiful sunset - it got better and deepened to a vivid red afterglow.
When I arrived there were about 20 swans milling around and presenting a bit of a composition and focus challenge to say the least. I did manage to get a lot of them in but this one has the nicest sky.
I'm no wildlife photographer but I do have quite a good swan portfolio!!
Picked me a bucket of raspberries today.

So many advantages to having flower beds around the property. Walking the yard to view the colors and the way they display themselves is something to behold. Every few weeks something different comes in to bloom. The previous homeowner meticulously designed and planted flowers, shrubs and bushes around the property and looks wonderful in bloom. I’m doing my best to stay on top of it all even in the off season. I will share much on Flickr as Spring arrives and takes us colorfully into Summer as well. “Freshness Means Everything” and we like to give flowers to friends when they stop to visit. They brighten a kitchen, living room or bedroom. Thanks for viewing my work again,

Happy Fence Friday!
Just some fresh, opening spring bud peek-a-booing through a fence. Testing the close-up / macro abilities of the little "always-in-my-pocket" Lumix LX100. Macro with this camera "happens" at the wide end of the lens, so there will be some typical wide angle distortions, but it still works rather well with quite pleasing results.
Happy Flora, HFF (the 13th!), and a wonderful weekend to you, dear Flickr friends!
Q339 passes the south end of the sidings at Deshler. Note how the locomotive and signal both sport fresh paint.
I hadn't been too high on the Evansville Western for a while as they had some patched out UP SD70M's and LTEX ex CSX SD60s running around to ruin the green consists. I was happy to see in March that the ex-UP's found the paint booth. Here they sit at Mount Vernon Transfer Terminal with an empty coal train.
According to PZ, they seemed to sit there rusting to the rails for a lot of the spring. EVWR coverage is lacking so it is hard to say how many turns to Illinois this nice looking trio has made.
