Decided on the cold concept for my submission for this weeks topic. A frosty reception looking in the food freezer.
From my recent trip up the Old Man of Storr in icy conditions. This loch an is one of my favourite foreground interest shots. I fear the straight-ish line of the lochan's edge does make it look a bit like two images put together, but I liked the composition-so I'm sticking with it.
Thin slices of gravlax (Salmon, cured in a mixture of salt, sugar, cracked white or black pepper, and quite a bunch of fresh, chopped dill) served on toasted bagels and cream cheese, with a mustard-dill sauce dribbled over - fabulous on a gray rainy day!

Wherein Tux joyfully discovers an ice floe just the right size for a plushy penguin! And he learns about old-fashioned food freezers that don't self-defrost. Ours buillt up a huge cake of ice that nearly fills the bottom basket. Tux looks right at home there, doesn't he? Happy January Toy-in-the-frame Thursday {freezer edition}

He is in fact made of Artista Soft, not sugar, in order for the family to be able to keep him and so has to sit on a waxed card base as Artista should not come into direct contact with sugar.
The proper cakes are not actually made yet ...... I was just testing it out on a cake dragged from the freezer but I will be using these cases as the colours go so well with the toppers and the theme.
A bit of a busy weekend for me with a wedding cake as well !
In a convenience store in Mexico.
I bought chips there. The lady behind the cash register suggested I buy him chips, for the boy. The boy also suggested I buy him chips. I bought him chips.
One of the activities at Amanda's baby shower was for everyone to stencil at least one onesie for the baby to be. I think everyone really enjoyed it. I had most of the stencils pre drawn. They just needed cut out and ironed on. A few of the people braved it and drew there own too. The notes indicate who made which onesie.
