The sun goes down on a French beach and a dog runs in front of the camera. In a split second I capture this wonderful moment. The orange glow pushing through the shadow and the reflection from the sand, makes it one to treasure.
guess i'm all about color today!
a lttle too yucky from the gym to show the old mug today.
sporting the butterfly instead.
why a butterfly?
free spirits who are experts at going with the changes life throws at them and reminders to not take life too seriously. good things to keep in my mind.
i also smile when i look at them.
so, there!
song of the day: train in vain, by the clash. (great workout song, btw)

Aurora Borealis…That is the freedom…It could dance everywhere…From Sun to the world…all over our planet…By touching to Alaska, Canada, Russia, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Greenland, Iceland with its magic lights…Here in this photo, I was lucky enough to witness a moment like that…Over the frozen Torassieppi lake, surrounded by Lapland forest, lighted very well thanks to the Full Moon. And the free spirit is hanging out over the Lappish tent which includes a hole for ice swimming. Thank you very much Aurora Borealis to enable me to get this photo. Thanks god for this opportunity. By the way, when it comes to take the Northern Lights photo at full moon, it has also advantages as you see in this photo. If you are lucky enough to have the moon back to you and Aurora in front of you. Especially, if your camera is not performing very well at high ISO like mine. In my case, I use maximum 800 ISO and even this one has less quality than Mark III at 3200. As you’ve seen in this photo, I had to use some Noise Reduction even if I took at 400 ISO. I bought a half-yard set of Jay McCarroll's new line of fabrics. I have to say, they are some lovely prints. I think my grandmother actually had a shirt in a print just like this.
Frolicking among the waterfalls, skating upon the slick rocks, I cannot fall. I am of Earth, Air, Water & Fire.
I love how this shot turned out. It was just a basic shot before and when I opened in CS2 I told it to use the same settings from the last photo (eyes closed) and it came out just like this after a little alteration. I NEVER would have done this to the photo but it was such a "Happy Accident".
A saw it over my shoulder and said, "That's me flying"... Exactly, baby.
***4/26/06 - This photo has always been a personal favorite. Inspired i decided to rework it and love the results even better than this one***
7/30/06 - Anyone wondering.. NOT MY SECRET!

Have Fun!
In full flow. Don't often post family stuff (even tho it's my favorite subject), but I like the energy and carefree feeling this image evokes - and probably coz it reminds me of myself as a wee boy, when the most important thing in the world was running thru a big field full of buttercups... It's easy to lose sight of the small pleasures in life.

Yea, it's done!
I think this has to be my most favorite quilt that I have made, so far!
I hope the recipient enjoys it for a long time! :)

Here's my quilt for the swap! :)
The picture makes it look a little wonky around the edges, but it is nice and square. I got the "Liberated Quiltmaking" by Gwen Marston book out of the library (I saw Tia had it in a photo). I love the book and the whole idea behind how she makes her quilts. This quilt is based on her Shoo Fly quilt block pattern.
