The kids are at their grandparents, nothing better then a few hours of sewing and listening to my favourite blues music.
It has been a brutal winter for many of us in North America and Europe, so I felt a Spirit of Spring was needed, to help lift our Spirits :-)
Pattern for the meadow scene, doll, bunny ears, and Elven boots are available free on my blog at:
The wonderful free doll pattern is created by Beth Webber, byhookbyhand.blogspot.com.
The panties are my own design.
“There is something in October sets the gypsy blood astir, We must rise and follow her; When from every hill of flame, She calls and calls each vagabond by name”
Nadia's new hat! She says "I look like Audry Hepburn!"
Hat pattern is from an Annie's Attic series entitled "Annie's Miniature Shoe Society," and features a fancy dress shoe, hat, and bag. The series was published in 2000-2001 and is now out of print. A Google search may find some patterns still available.

Finished this skirt last night and had to wear it today! Perfect skirt for a sunny day, but...not so perfect when the wind gusts. Miraculously, the neighbors were not flashed.

This is Canotila, a mini Tree Spirit of the Lakota Sioux. She (he?) is basically a mini Free Spirit with elf ears and almond shaped dark green eye surrounds. I've also added star shaped tears to the eyes, and some bead crochet to the tunic.

Mini Free Spirit Travel Bag finished :-) The bottom block is what joins the two larger halves together, and where Jenny is securely fastened with a ribbon tie. The design sort of evolved as I went along :-)
A rainforest pool deep in the heart of Mt. Warning, this very cold pool is my place of spiritual renewal.

Hat pattern is an Annie's Attic pattern.
Catherine Pocket Spirit with the pattern that provided all these wonderful dresses; Annie Potter Presents "Victorian Darlings."
These dresses would also fit 16cm BJD's like Lati Yellow and Fairyland Puki Fee.
Pattern for the doll is available free on my blog at:
I used Jay Mc Carroll 'Garden Friends" fabric accented with a bright red and framed in a turquoise. This one is machine quilted. I really enjoy using his fabrics. They are very "whimsical" and "not the norm" as far as what you would expect in a baby quilt.
Fun wig choices for Mini Free Spirit. These wigs are so easy to make; I let the yarn do most of the work. It is a very 'hairy' worsted mohair yarn.
Just crochet a wig cap (the hairy-er side is the wrong side), then hook some yarn strands into the cap for bangs, ponytails, pigtails, long flowing hair, whatever you think of! Loops can be crocheted with a loop stitch or chain stitches. You are only limited by your imagination :-)

Free Spirit Gypsy - Council Suit
"According to the SoulCollage book, Council Suits are the Archetypal Dimension in your deck. They are thought to choose us instead of the other way around. Some may only stay with us a short time, then move on. However, some stay with us our whole lives.
I believe this one has been with me since I was a little girl......and continues to reinforce my free spirit attitude, my need to walk my own path, to seek out new & exciting places and people, and to savor my wanderlust ways."
