You know you've entered a weird phase in your life when your friend drives by with a praying mantis pod she thought your kid might like and you exchange it in the driveway like a drug deal.
These guys were insanely cool and F was thrilled to be a mom to hundreds of new fragile lives.
I specially like the almost invisible string of spider thread, top right, that seems to be holding the weed.

True beauty is indeed a fragile thing.
However, it withstands the test of time and it won't rust even if it's weathered with life.
absolutely gorgeous mom and baby, taken at the barthimee clinic in senegal, west africa. although impossible to tell from this photograph, this was one of the sickest children i cared for during my time in africa.
nine months old, this baby weighed only 4 kg (a bit over 8 pounds), suffering from typhoid, malaria, and chronic and severe malnutrition. small though they are, my hands were able to completely encircle his upper chest, finger tips overlapping on his back, my thumbs touching over his heart. he belonged in an intensive care unit, but besides none being available, his mother could not afford even overnight observation for him at an outlying hospital. we gave him all the medications we had and sent him home with his mother with further medications and instructions.
by absolutely nothing other than the grace of god, she returned with him to the clinic several days later, and he was much, much improved. hope is a fragile thing, but what an example of why we should have it. his mom was so kind to allow me to take this picture, and was very pleased to see it.
the grain and blur is unfortunate, but the power was out at the clinic at the time, and this was all i could squeeze out of my camera.
December 2006.
I wish I could have done better... but got only one chance, then he was gone.
The torn wing didn't bother him a bit.
I liked the contrast in textures and light.
(Thanks, Sapaho, for the title!)

This is Elaeovarpus reticulatus also known as Blueberry Ash, a local native here in Sydney. The flowers are small, cute and rather fragile looking.
Amidst the dense foliage, a golden glow ignites the jungle. This golden lion tamarin, as rare as it is mesmerizing, perches on its tree like a flame suspended between shadow and light. Its deep gaze scans the horizon, a silent witness to the fragility of its kingdom.
A wild spark, a frozen moment, an ode to the fleeting splendor of nature.
...the more you love something the more it's scary to lose it...then the fragility arises. September 2020
Breaking is way easier than fixing. Why do we dare to hurt a fragile soul?

"Fragile"
If blood will flow when flesh and steel are one
Drying in the colour of the evening sun
Tomorrow's rain will wash the stains away
But something in our minds will always stay
Perhaps this final act was meant
To clinch a lifetime's argument
That nothing comes from violence and nothing ever could
For all those born beneath an angry star
Lest we forget how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are
On and on the rain will fall
Like tears from a star like tears from a star
On and on the rain will say
How fragile we are how fragile we are
How fragile we are how fragile we are
Somos frágiles,
sometemos nuestros cuerpos
a sobredosis de emoción
y distancias largas
que nos matan lento
no tenemos tiempo
no tenemos tiempo...

What you burnt, broke, and tore is still in my hands. I am the keeper of fragile things and I have kept of you what is indissoluble.
