These formations grow at the rate of about a cubic inch per year and most of them are thousands of years old.

One of the last shots of the day when I hit the coast in Snowdonia with Lee Acaster a few weeks ago.

I thought these rock formations at Birnbeck Pier acted as nice lead in lines for this image. Captured just minutes after sundown when the beautiful pink glow was beginning to show.

Section 10 of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Flypast - Voyager ZZ338 leads F-35s ZM146 and ZM157 plus Typhoons ZJ914 "Blackjack" and ZJ929 as they pass over Central London.

Adventures with Nature docent friend Norma took us for a walk at Estero Bluffs, a place that is very familiar to me. But I don't know the rocks and she does--she really gets distracted by them. Thanks for the lessons, Norma.

 

This 4-5 ft. high section is part of a vertical cliff, ~40 feet away from the rock in adjacent photo.
