I found this picture while surfing the internet but there was no description as to where/when the picture was taken. It looks like a very nice place, those jagged rock formations are unreal!
I love the contrast between the disorderly, impermanent ice and the neatly-layered, (mostly) permanent sandstone. Like the ice, though, the sandstone will in time disappear. It will erode away, becoming sand on the shore of Lake Superior.
Moolack Beach rock formation that yields shellfish fossils. I found a bunch of fossilized bivalves (ie clams etc) in the sand below.
This is a split rock and has some weird formations, anybody know what it is? Found in the Franklin Mountains in El Paso, TX.
