Well, I don't have a fireworks shot to post today. I have been really busy sorting through the thousands of frames I shot last week at the All RedStar 2011 fly-in.
I was asked to photograph the 4 day event alongside a videographer to document every aspect of one of the largest annual gatherings of the RedStar Pilots Association.
About The RedStar Pilots Association ("RPA")
The RedStar Pilots Association is a Federal 501(c) (3) Not-For-Profit corporation registered in the state of Virginia. The association mission is to promote and preserve the safe operation, display and enjoyment of all aircraft -- jet to prop, aerobatic, sport, warbird and utility -- especially those originating in the current and former communist block nations. The RPA strives to function as a clearing house for information related to maintenance and safe operation of our aircraft. Through our designated Check Pilots and Instructor Pilots, and the national F.A.S.T. organization, we develop performance standards, principles and techniques which we disseminate to member pilots in order to promote safe formation flight and the safe operation of our aircraft.
Through our website, our national officers and our regional directors, we link member pilots in order to identify issues and concerns, provide training opportunities and organize events that provide resources and foster camaraderie.
We are an FAA-sanctioned signatory to the Formation And Safety Team body known by the abbreviation F.A.S.T. This position allows us to train, qualify and manage civilian formation pilots in the United States and Canada for the safe conduct of formation flight displays in the US and Canadian air show industry. Pilots the world over benefit from formation training at all levels while the public interest is maintained through our efforts to reinforce safety of flight. Membership is open to all pilots, aircraft owners and enthusiasts. You do not need to own an Eastern Block aircraft to become a full member.

I have recently discovered the Bruce Peninsula's beauty and some of the most amazing landscapes that I have ever seen. I took a week off to camp with my wife, visit many of the places I have seen such gorgeous photos of, and of course photograph it myself. There are boat tours that will take you out over a couple shipwrecks (you can see them underwater through the glass bottom of the boat) and then over to Flowerpot Island. A few hiking trails on the island will take you out to the natural rock formations and to some pretty cool caves. The flowerpots were formed over thousands of years and the help of wind and water. The rock on top is harder than the rock on the bottom so the lower rock erodes away to create the flowerpot shape. I took a ton of pictures that I will be sure to look at once it is snowy and cold outside this winter.
Flowerpot Island is an island in Georgian Bay and is part of the Fathom Five National Marine Park. It covers an area of 2 square kilometres located just north of Tobermory and the Bruce Peninsula National Park. A third flowerpot once stood but tumbled in 1903.

Formé en 1931, à l'Aérodrome d'Étampes - Mondésir, Guillerval, la Patrouille de France est la patrouille acrobatique officielle de l'Armée de l'air française.
Trois pilotes intègrent chaque année la patrouille. Les nouveaux entrants sont choisis parmi les pilotes de chasse de l'armée de l'air qui font acte de volontariat. Ils doivent détenir la qualification de chef de patrouille et totaliser au moins 1 500 heures de vol sur avion à réaction pour pouvoir postuler.
Stationnée sur la base aérienne 701 de Salon-de-Provence.
