Carr Forge Dam is a dam located in the centre of the reserve. The dam dates back to the Tudor dynasty, and most of the brickwork still remains. The dam is now mainly used as a wildlife pond, with toads, frogs and other species including the endangered Great Crested Newt breeding in the marshes.

A scene from my first trip to Valley Forge National Park. Such a beautiful area, especially at the peak of autumn colors. This is a reminder of warmer days.

Proud to say I represent The Forge / EzWeapons.

During my years as a active RPer I always completed my attire with items from The Forge, to actually become a member of their blogger list is an honor.

"One must forge the iron while it is hot"

meanings:

one should act quickly, otherwise it may be too late.

Origin:

In ancient times, as well as in the Middle Ages and modern times, iron was and is a frequently used material for forging.

It can only be deformed as long as it is hot and therefore soft enough, otherwise it will break rather than be deformed.

In politics, this formula should be reconsidered. Ever since our steel mills were dismantled and sold to China in the 1970s and 1980s, that thought has been lost.

This fragile white Dahlia blossom is literally composed of atoms forged in the burning hearts of red giant stars that exploded billions of years ago. What a journey. When I converted the image to black and white and inverted the tone curve I released some of that ancient fire.

Subject: Garden Dahlia (Dahlia pinnata)

How did I create this image? I took a series of images at f8 with successively deeper focal planes using a Nikkor 105 mm macro lens on a Nikon Z7 camera body. The multiple images were then complied into one image which is sharp from front to back using Zerene Stacker. I edited the RAW file in Lightroom to bring my vision to life. Each image is a marriage of technology and art. Enjoy!

Artist Statement: The exquisite beauty of flowers is both fragile and fleeting. And yet, flowers so often bear witness to the eternal truths of our lives: love and loss; birth and death; joy and grief; triumph and failure. My goal is to capture not only the ephemeral beauty of the flowers I photograph, but to create images with the capacity to evoke our enduring emotions, dreams, and deeper truths. Enjoy!

The blacksmith shop at the Oakville Complex in rural Carroll County in northwest Illinois. Oakville was a small village in the early 1900's with a store, school, church, and cemetery. The schoolhouse closed in 1945,only it and the adjoining cemetery are original to the settlement. Also surviving is a stone mansion built in the late 1800's by one of the founders of the settlement....

Are you experiencing the same? Just when I started going back to my usual routine on weekends, weather is again not cooperating! On this hazy Pittsburg morning I had one of those moments when nothing was looking promising but I still got out and just when I wanted to fold, this happens. Lesson learned. What do you think?

Claimed to be the among oldest surviving railway workshops, the High Peak Junction Workshops were built around 1830 and are now faithfully restored to how they would have looked in the 1880s.
