I'm still in shock that not only has Tesco got in Matchbox Case E but that they managed it so quickly after getting in the last assortment! It means getting hold of their new 2019 Subaru Forester without having to resort to obtaining them from abroad.
Definitely modern Matchbox at their very best modelling an ordinary vehicle in plain stock colours and lots of front and rear tampo detailing. A great effort for a budget diecast. Mint and boxed.
Also with impressive antennae! Was a lovely surprise to see these as I've only ever seen them in France! One of the most attractive day flying moths I think!

Latest recolour of the Matchbox 2019 Subaru Forester, a casting many collectors appreciated since its first release for being reassuringly stock looking in its execution. Subaru somehow cling on to the UK market though Worldwide sales of their Forester are still extremely healthy.
Despite its appearance, this new recolour is actually a very very dark metallic green and not black.
Part of 2023 Case G found recently in a French Action where amazingly they still cost the equivalent of just 1.00. The average price in the UK for Matchbox is now 2.00!

Foresters Court sign.
Presumably a meeting place for the Ancient Order of Foresters which was linked to the Independent Order of Foresters which is a fraternal organisation.
Back in the day this sign must have looked beautiful. Now it has a different kind of beauty - all peeling paint and what have you.

Legend has I that this was the headstone of one of the original foresters that cleared the area that became Chapel-en-le-frith.
The site of the actual grave is unknown and the headstone does not stand in its original location.
The Norman Kings used this area as a hunting ground and created a large tract as the Royal Forest of the Peak. A chapel was built in the forest in 1225 hence Chapel-en-le-Frith. The church was dedicated to Saint Thomas Becket. The present parish church stands on the same site and was added to and rebuilt in 1733. There are burials and memorials in the church and in the surrounding yard.

This is a car from the second generation of the Subaru Forester, built from 2003 until 2008. During the short time of collabaration between General Motors and Subaru this Forester was sold as a Chevrolet in India.
An early morning walk in the Iningai Nature Reserve, outside Longreach, produced this pair of marsupials, disturbed at their morning feed.Their next priority will be to find a shady spot for a day-long nap. Texture help from CliffordSax.

Never commonly seen here in the UK thanks to Tesco though I did find this other example more recently at an E.Leclerc Jouet.

45231 Sherwood Forester and its support coach being piloted by Class 47 614 in a positioning move from Crewe to Carlisle. On Saturday the Saphos Trains Lakelander excursion heads up the main line from Crewe with Britannia up front. The afternoon return is via the Cumbrian coast and the Black Five takes over duties from Carlisle to Carnforth.
The second generation of the Subaru Forester was sold between 2002 and 2008. This one is powered by a turbocharged 2.5 litre boxer engine, good for 230 PS. Like most larger Subarus it has all-wheel drive drive.
Extended winter walk through the snow-covered village of my childhood. Here I grew up ...on these meadows I picked my first flowers ... here I romped around with our dog. Memories that never pass away.
This rather colourful construction isn´t and never has been a castle. It´s a former forester house hidden in the woods, which was extended with a castle styled wing ending in a round tower, which is home of a small religious cult, the so-called cosmic zen buddhists. This cult was founded some twenty years ago by a charismatic woman, who leads it until today. They believe into salvation of the chosen few, who will be transported to Mars, the typical stuff of doomsday cults. There should be some 20-30 people, who had to give up all their possesions to their leader, and work for her for free (one of those people gifted also this forester house). They have a succesful bussines growing vegetables and flowers, and tried to build another castle like wing, which was not permitted. There have been controversies for years about mistreatment inside the cult, end escapees spoke out about psychological and physical abuse, including bashing of children´s heads against the walls (done also by the leader). The members are not allowed to laugh or sing, and seem to be perfectly programmed, an cult expert who visited there described the extremely uniform behavior of the members, the same used words, same manierisms, same movements. In last years the controversies paused, and the cult lives their secluded existence in this complex. The tower has a praying room in the upper part with a pyramid, around which the members periodically pray.
