USA Today has a nice interactive chart where you can select a region/city to see the job forecast for 2010. In the above screenshot you see the forecast for Seattle. It seems that from Januari 2010 things will get a little better.

This cloudy morning I checked the weather forecast: "Mostly cloudy. Showers likely near Everett... chance of showers elsewhere in the morning. Highs in the mid 40s. South wind to 10 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon."
A few minutes later I looked out the window and got quite a shock at the completely unexpected thick snow falling. North wind, of course.
Exactly as forecasted. Well, almost. In the afternoon it was sunny with a strong North wind.

jan 14. 2014 .Cocky is watching the weather forecast on the abc. Cocky spent the day on the verandah in his large cage with his friend. His friend is in a separate cage. Cocky does not like his friend much. I covered the cage with a tea towel and sprayed him with cold water using a spray bottle. He does not particularly like showers. Cocky was happy that his hakea seed pods opened. His age is unknown but judging by the slowness of his movement I suspect that he may be about 40 or older. Cocky is very hot here. The house has insulation but no air-.conditioning. I have the fan from the gas heater on which makes the room a little bit cooler

I love the art/science/witchery of weather forecasting! Now, on accuweather.com, they have MinuteCast--a weather forecast for a location, minute by minute. I love the concept, regardless of accuracy; it's just fun! So, I'm still waiting for the snow that should have already started! It did start to snow approximately 30 minutes later, only 29 minutes late! January 12, 2016 in Troy, New York, USA>
It's shifted a tad east. Looking like she will still be a tropical storm when she nears DFW. The bad part for us is this change in the forecast where she stalls out over us, possibly dumping 10-30 inches of rain (according to Dr. Jeff Masters).
At least 1100 Peruvian families living in areas vulnerable to heavy rains linked to El Niño received a humanitarian donation from the Peruvian Red Cross in March 2016, as part of the Forecast-based Financing programme supported by the German government and Red Cross, with technical advice from the Climate Centre. Seasonal forecasts at the end of 2015 and more recent short-term forecasts of heavy rain triggered non-food assistance that included water purification, fumigation against disease-carrying mosquitoes, sanitation measures and hygiene kits to families in the communities of Laynas, Huaquilla, Serran and Pedregal (see file names for locations). The communities were selected as the most vulnerable after a joint assessment involving local and regional authorities and Red Cross. The 30 Red Cross volunteers who conducted the distribution also provided advice on early warning, first aid, health, and shelter. Olveis Pizarro, a Serran community member, said Red Cross training had enabled people to strengthen their own cooperation, while Berenilda Aguirre of Huaquilla said: “We are glad to have been trained to prepare for a disaster. This is The Great Globe at Durlston on the Isle of Purbeck, it is 40 tonnes of Portland limestone and about 10 feet across. Built in 1887 it is not entirely accurate but with snow covering most of the Northern Hemisphere it seemed pretty well spot on today.
