the forecast told rain and clouds. So I let the good but larger Camera back, took only the small one. 1000 meter in altitude later I had from the top of the mountain then this view towards the higher peaks of Stubai Alps.

Thank you so much for your visit!
Back to Trout Lake and an early morning frost on the Sunshine Coast. The weather called for a touch of snow on this day, which led to plenty of interesting candy coated trees. My thought on this shot was to use the red frost covered trees, to imitate a shadow, to the white frost covered trees. In turn, that would help give the illusion of dimension.
When I saw the ducks land and begin to swim, they turned and angled straight for my shot, as if it were planned. Perhaps it is true when they say, "luck favours the prepared".
...and this was on the leeward, sheltered side of the Isle of Portland!

The weather forecasters were right - we were plagued with rain, drizzle and fog all day long. You can see that miserable cold wet stuff beaded up on this stoic Wilson's snipe's back. At least I didn't have to stand belly-deep in mud.
Looks like the next weekend will present us some frosty days, some sunshine would be welcome. Obernbeck,Ostwestfalen, Germany
Conditions and the forecast looked great so a last minute decision to visit The Lakes. I know it's a cliche but when you've been to a location many times and the conditions were never right, I make no apologies about this one.
Even so, I still messed up. Was supposed to be a ten shot pano but ended up as six, hence no Fleetwith Pike and I had to crop a lot of the reflections out.
This was about a hour and a half after sunrise.

A change of pace for today. The town where I live is at present surrounded by bushfires, the town is cut off to the north, south and west by fires. I took this photo last Friday around the middle of the day, the glow of fires completely covered the sky while burned leaves, pieces of charred bark and ash fell like confetti from the sky.
This photo was taken outside my home on the street where I live. Since the fires started more than a week ago, an estimated 350 Koalas have lost their lives along with countless other wildlife.
We have a government that does not believe in climate change, but in my 70+ years I have never seen such a sight. The fires continue, and more extreme hot weather is forecast for the week ahead.

The MetOffice have released their three month advance forecast for the UK and it is expected that, in the midst of the cost of living crisis, we are likely to face a colder than average winter. These advance forecasts are getting harder to predict with rapid arctic warming destabilising the high altitude jet streams. People in the UK are already having to choose between heating and eating as they struggle with obscene energy prices while the energy companies rake in excessive profits. It will be a tough winter ahead.
Stay safe my Flickr friends.
As fresh snowfall was forecasted, I loaded the 4x4 and drove up Black Forest. Within subzero temperatures I had a fine morning with thick fog in the valley, ice crystals on the trees and hot coffee in my cup. Enjoyed the absolute silence with very little wind and wildlife sounds and no other person around for hours. What a truly outstanding experience.

The forecast was for mist this particular morning, but it's not something we get round here very often (and I currently have a complete mistrust of weather forecasts), so had no plans to go out. Looked out of the window and banks of mist were rolling in. Rapid change of plan and decanted my cup of tea into a flask.
I had a magical morning wandering around the local bluebell wood, bewitched by that heavenly scent. It seems there is a benefit to having a body clock that wakes me up at 5:30 every morning!
Not the best comp, but I was aimlessly wandering when the sunlight started to break through.
At a recent campsite, morning light started around the corner and we had to wait our turn for any warmth of the sun to reach us. Until then, everything was wet with dew, which usually means a good forecast for the day to come: "When the dew is on the grass, rain will never come to pass; When grass is dry at morning light, look for rain before the night."
I was itching to go out and shoot as I was off from work - all my weather apps and local weather said zero clouds at sunset. Two hours prior, I spotted some light clouds and headed out.
Weather apps & reports are great as an aid, but nothing replaces direct observation.

No comments today – just enjoy :-)
The forecast was for early morning fog so it was very pleasing to find that the weather forecast was correct as often it is not. I arrived before sunrise at the chosen spot near the township of Yarra Glen in Victoria, Australia and spent nearly two hours photographing the ever change scene below me.

Enjoy your weekend everyone, I will catch up with your beautiful photos tonight or over the weekend!! PS. Very hot here today, around 38° and 40° is forecast for Sunday!!

Tofu watches the weather forecast on TV with me and knows that we will probably get quite a lot of rain tomorrow. As he hates to get wet, he prefers to be prepared and already hides under a deckchair today, just in case ...
The weather forecast for Colorado is a bit frightening, though not as bad as states east of here. Winter ain’t over yet!
With heartfelt and genuine thanks for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day, be well, keep your eyes open, appreciate the beauty surrounding you, enjoy creating, stay safe and laugh often! ❤️❤️❤️
The forecast said plenty of fog and mist, but as usual they got it wrong {again}, still, there was a small amount of mist first thing, so not all bad !.
Ok it is still not may in germany. But I was crawling in my file archive from last year and found one of my usual "single-tree-images".
Just a symbol against the cold eastern weather :-)
Another cool start to the day, both in weather and trains. A trio of EMDs lead southbound loads at Zim with morning puffies overhead that added some great texture to the sky.
The River Teign rushing down the valley in Fingle woods. The forecast for this weekend is unfortunately not great, I was really hoping to be able to get another nice autumn day before the leaves are all gone.
