Weather forecast for tonight: dark.

The rain started in the evening. I was glad for the coolness it brought, but this rain was so inappropriate and disrupted all our plans for the morning shooting. I woke up without an alarm clock, there was a cool breeze through the window and the rain only slightly rustled on the leaves. We were ready to go after the masterpieces, but the sky was overcast and this caused some confusion in our ranks. Someone had breakfast and went on to bed, someone played on the phone, I studied the weather forecast on different sites. When there were 20 minutes left before dawn, the horizon began to turn pink and the sky was painted with bright colors. Sometimes the day wakes up beautifully. We went to the nearest shooting location, familiar to us from the previous evening. I was only thinking about whether we would have time to photograph this beautiful sunrise or not. Arriving at the location, I grabbed my backpack and literally ran to take pictures. It was a beautiful, watercolor morning, a bright splash of color on the overcast canvas of a gray day. We managed to film and enjoy this moment, and then went to our van, where we experienced a real shock. In our haste, we forgot to close the side door. Obviously it wasn't very crowded this early in the morning, but it didn't feel good.

Thanks for reading.

This was one of those nights when I had zero plans to shoot — the rain had been relentless for days. But I always keep a list of bookmarked spots ready, just in case the weather plays nice.

Earlier that day, I noticed a 3-hour window of clear sky over Lake Ninan — a place I’d just visited recently but hadn't removed from my bookmarked list yet. I didn’t think much of it, assuming the forecast would snap right back to factory setting: clouds and more rain.

But to my surprise, it held up. So before bed, I pulled out all my gear and set my alarm for midnight. By 2 AM, I was standing by the lake under a perfectly clear sky, no wind at all — the water was a flawless mirror again.

So here I am, a few days later, sharing this shot — standing on that glassy lake while messaging my partner, who couldn’t sleep that night.

Another beautiful night under the stars — until the fog rolled in and wrapped everything in dew. Worth every cold, damp second.

The Milky Way over Hawker, South Australia. The forecast was clouds all night but it actually stayed pretty much clear. I did get a thin haze or something in my deep sky pics towards the morning so I gave up. This is from Castle Rock, the wind up there was so extreme I was concerned for the camera. Landscape lit a bit by a 10% moon, I'm not sure if its dust or airglow over Hawker. 3 shot vertical panorama stitched and processed in Photoshop.

I recently came back from a trip where I again visited the Redwoods and everytime I had gotten unlucky as the Redwoods is a very specific place for weather - you need fog and sun !!

Anyways after heading down the coast I decided to give up on the Redwoods and head home but on my drive home that night I could not see five feet in front of me so I decided to wait overnight at the Battery Point Lighthouse - next morning it was even worse for fog but the forecast called for sun so I headed into the Redwoods and found a comp and then waited for about two hours and the sun wait its appearance - One of the best sites I have ever seen ! I had sun rays all day in the Redwoods !

Thanks for looking and taking the time out of your day !!!

As tomorrows weather forecast appears promising...areal capture taken during last years June Dolomites trip. Have a good weekend ahead. Thanks, Udo.

Slight morning fog, remnants of yesterdays fire, some clouds and sunny spells, and many more bombs are expected in Aleppo.

Next week the forecast calls for a spot of sun. Not a sun lover, but it might help photos to have more definition. Cannot use auto-ISO in many situations; ridiculously high ISO amount.

Early turnout because mist was forecast. I went elsewhere first but it was uneventful so moved a mile away to this park and caught the sunrise and some lingering mist.

Thanks to everyone who has favoured and commented on my image much appreciated.

Today's Forecast: Blistering Heat and Bone-Dry! Chances of this dry stream bed filling with water: Less than nil.

I had the questionably good fortune of spending a night camping in my vehicle in this foreboding and forsaken landscape. Nothing stirred during the day (except I did spot a lizard). After sunset, however, the desert came to life. I heard various types of critters making noises throughout a rather sleepless night.

Good evening, residents.

Today’s forecast across the grid shows scattered roleplay storms in the medieval regions, heavy shopping showers at the latest events, and a strong wave of creativity moving through the artistic sims.

Travel advisory: teleport delays possible during peak hours.

Fashion pressure remains high, and there’s a 90% chance of dramatic entrances after sunset.

Daisy checked the weather forecast - happy Caturday!

I made an long overdue visit tonight to hatchet pond in the new forest. Located near Beaulieu, the pond makes a good sunset location this time of year.

Before I left Basingstoke the forecast looked promising, low wind speed with Sunny intervals. I arrived 30 mins before sunset disappointed to find very little cloud cover and quite a breeze.

Shortly after sunset the wind died and some cloud cover drifted in. 30 mins later I was lucky to be able to capture some great reflections and a purple hue to the sky. At least it was worth the effort in the end.

LAST SUNSET OF AUGUST...

Finally! the wildfire closest to us, the 2nd largest in California history at more than 391, 000 acres burned, is finally 75% contained with a possibility of 100% containment before the weekend. Just a perfect time since the weekend forecast is another heatwave!

THANK YOU to all the men and women who worked day in and day out who are fighting all these wildfires.

With at the time, a bold forecast of heavy grain traffic in Canada, the decision was made to bring in reinforcements, i.e., pull power out of storage, which meant all but about half a dozen 8-40CM's were reactivated. BCOL 4604 was one of the chosen ones as it was pulled out of Homewood and put back in service. While the grain was not as heavy as expected, there has been an upturn in traffic recently that seems to have justified the revival. While it was not on grain when I saw it, it was leading the hottest eastbound train on the CN Flint Sub, Q148. With temps in the teens and winds comparable, the cold was definitely biting at my hands while the stack train flew by, but seeing a barn back from the brink, is definitely worth the cold fingers.

So many times you will hear that in a forecast but seldom is it this beautiful....

Saturday mornings sunrise on Downhill Beach looking towards Mussendun Temple. 100% cloud cover was give out on the weather forecast but I decided to chance it anyway.

We arrived at Downhill 1 hour and half before sunrise. Just a little early and ended up sleeping in the car.

I am so glad I ignored the forecast as it was one beautiful sunrise

The forecast was for a very active aurora tonight, so I went to Cleary Summit (a pass in the White Mountains northeast of Fairbanks.

While the forecast wasn't especially accurate, this is a good place to get a view with the higher altitude and a good view to the northeast.

The bright spot is the moon, which doesn't get very big with the fisheye lens.

The forecast for tomorrow (Friday) is rain and some cooling down before it shall get hot again at the weekend.

I can already hear the first rolling thunder in the distance

... anticipation !! : ))

Milky Way season. I ventured to the low Colorado Desert area of Anza-Borrego hoping for a chance at a starry nightscape. The forecasted winds were supposed to die down (they got stronger), and the "clear" forecast was not. So … those wispy clouds were so thick I couldn't even find my rising Milky Way, which needed to rise above the light dome pollution of Blythe anyway. I was using sand bags on my lights and camera tripod, so moving stuff around on the slippery side of the hill in gusty strengthening winds finally took their toll. This is as good as it got before I threw in the towel. Saturn and Jupiter there I think, magnified by the thin clouds. Still a good exercise in working with my newer Sony gear though, and the sky was bright and beautiful as I packed it up and headed for home.

The forecast had promised snow on three consecutive days before and including this one. As you can see, there was no snow and the day was drab and gloomy. At least the clouds were interesting.

Around the time of the solstice celebrations – also known as Johanni or mountain fires – the weather forecast for the region around Ehrwald, Tyrol (Austria) promised perfect conditions. An ideal opportunity to capture the unique atmosphere of these alpine nights with the camera.

I chose to spend the night bivouacking at around 2,200 meters, just below the summits of Daniel and Upsspitze. There I found a sheltered spot with a wide view, perfect for an overnight stay.

The image shows the ridge leading up to Mount Daniel in the first light of dawn. In the background, the Wetterstein mountains rise, crowned by the striking Zugspitze – Germany’s highest peak.

A deeply moving moment – to witness the beginning of a new day in silence and clear mountain air, surrounded by this majestic alpine landscape.

talking about the weather

A Sunday morning with rain forecast isn't exactly what you want as an amateur photographer. But staying home wasn't an option, so I packed my things and set off. This landscape appeared less than eight kilometers away. The day was saved! :-)

Wild Atlantic Way in County Donegal, Ireland.

Actually, raining has started today and weather forecast is to continue raining until the rest of the week...

Check out these beauties :-)

This scene holds some raw power, for me. Particularly in reflecting a lost opportunity I had to gain insight into a very different understanding of the world (an Amish perspective). I try to stay away from regret, as I think it rarely serves much good… and I generally try not to do anything I would regret. But I do try to support the notion that something I would regret can otherwise be valued as a learning experience. In this case: a lesson in a missed chance. Blogged if you want clarity to this story.

In this shot, there are some strange tones in the sky, and I believe this had to do with the window reflection of the train.

Weather forecast lol

First half of this May, it was mostly fogy here in Scarborough/ UK. Second half has been a real mix of rain, cold, sunny spells... oh, and a kitchen sink .

This evening twilight shot clearly shows a vigorous air mass flow over the mountains - a prelude of what is soon to come perhaps? A weather system is forecast to move through Colorado the next couple of days bringing snow west of the Continental Divide. We live 17 miles east of The Divide, and we hope some snow makes it over to us.
