Introduction Ford Mustang Mach-E

The Matchbox 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is still considered a fresh casting but has already been given several recolours, clearly a favourite with the Matchbox Team. I'm no particular fan of the real car but I will admit it does look much more appealing in miniature form.

Thankfully Matchbox have gone for the stock version, its something they excel at and the reason why its by far the most numerous diecast brand in my collection with now approaching 7000! I'm particularly loving this latest pale grey recolour which instantly flatters the shape and brings to life its front and rear detailing.

Introduction Ford Mustang Mach-E

There is a lot of interest in this picture. Primarily, of course, it is my first picture of a 2021-reg Ford Mustang Mach-E, an EV offering from the manufacturer. Interestingly, it bears not only the green flash on the plate but the recently adopted UK identifier too. To make the image more interesting still, I have intentionally included Sarah Rosie's Bunty (Let's Go Fly A Kite!) from Zany Zebras (summer 2016) and Coral by Nathan Smith from Go! Rhinos (summer 2013) which live on happily in a Lee on Solent garden.

A bit of a random find in Morrisons yesterday. Random in the fact that I already have several of them, random in that I first found this as part of 2023 Case J at The Entertainer nigh on TWELVE MONTHS AGO, random in that Morrisons and indeed many other Matchbox retailers here in the UK are actually going backwards in the batches they are stocking, and random that as we are halfway through 2024 most stockists are barely into this years assortments! It really isn't a great time to be a Matchbox collector in its spiritual home despite the exclusivity deal with Tesco ending back in January 2023!

At least the one reason I did pick up this 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is that I still like this casting particularly in its contemporary pale grey colourand one which has been given good levels of detailing, I just wish we weren't so massively behind other parts of the World!

Road trip from Stavanger, Rogaland to Leka, Nord Trøndelag and back.

Covering 2.6145 kilometers! All pictures are uploaded randomly, ergo no proper timeline.

I we had been driving southbound instead, we could have reached Cologne, Germany.

I had to Google to check on whether a NYC branded Ford Mustang Mach-E was actually a real thing and not a flight of fancy by Matchbox. I'm happy to report it is based on a real vehicle and has been faithfully reproduced here apart from a lack of a roof mounted sign which you'd never get in a million years on a Mattel product.

I'm loving the basic fleet special chrome wheels and front detailing, none at the rear due to the modern two hit pass on the tampo machine but overall theres not much to be disappointed by this new release.

Brand new 2023 Case J recolour of the Matchbox Ford Mustang Mach-E in what is for me probably its best recolour so far. Its on trend pale grey colour really flatters the shape of this otherwise quite ungainly SUV and with the usual front and rear tampo plus a full interior I couldn't resist grabbing a few from The Entertainer.

Latest 2023 Case K recolour of the Matchbox 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E in an authentic NYC Taxi livery. Clearly the days of the good old Crown Vic and Caprice are long gone but its good to see Ford once again plying their trade on the streets of New York instead of the Nissan and Honda vehicles which looked set to take over.

Found at The Entertainer who despite a lot of their stores still been stuck on Case D some have gotten in Case J, K and now apparently L too in quick succession!

Brand new 2023 Case K recolour of the Matchbox 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E with a modern licensed NYC Taxi livery and one which I believe exists in real life. Mattel cost constraints and obsession with health and safety ensures it'll never have a roof mounted taxi sign but everything is as it should be.

Adorning a revered auto model name to an electric crossover is always risky, but when the name is Mustang, its downright foolhardy. But Ford must be doing something right; the Mustang Mach-E, as this crossover is called is turning out to be very popular with auto journalists and customers alike.

Possibly one of my favourite recolours so far of the Matchbox 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E, a young casting which is already on its fifth release! I'm definitely a fan of its very contemporary pale grey colour which seems to be very popular with many vehicle manufacturers at the moment.

Matchbox have ensured it looks as factory stock as possible which means much welcomed tampo detailing front and back.

Brand new 2023 Case J recolour of the Matchbox 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E and for me personally probably its best yet. I'm loving its pale grey finish which I admit is a colour which has become rather too popular here in the UK but does make a change from the usual silver, white and black!

A rather rakish casting with a sensible choice of wheels and full front and rear detailing.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E isn't a vehicle I particularly like in real life. Its not a very handsome beast though it does look distinctive and the use of the iconic Mustang nameplate on an electric SUV has certainly raised many eyebrows.

However in miniature form it does get plenty of love from me especially the Matchbox version which returns for 2023 Case J. Its appreciably more stock looking than the HW equivalent and its pale grey colour looks extremely contemporary.

Found recently at The Entertainer who are now ahead of all other UK MBX retailers for new assortments.

The Michigan state police has taken another step towards reducing their carbon footprint with the Mach-E qualifying their tests. Beware, lawbreakers!

One of my favourite recolours so far of the Matchbox 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E, its still considered brand new and yet has ALREADY been superseded by an even newer NYC Taxi recolour!

Not a livery I was expecting to ever see on the Matchbox 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E casting but one which I believe is actually pretty accurate and thus does suit it quite well. For reasons of cost you won't find a taxi sign on the roof but its NYC logo and colour scheme does look good as well as its economy style chrome disc wheels.

Although I still associate the late Ford Crown Victoria and Chevrolet Caprice as the archetypal NYC taxi I am clearly living in the distant past and times have moved on since then. EV's are now taking over and one of the latest vehicles to join their fleet is the Ford Mustang Mach-E and one which has been faithfully replicated by Matchbox.

Obviously budget constraints ensures it doesn't get a roof mounted taxi sign but the casting itself is credibly good and licensed livery authentic.

After opening a full 72 count case of Matchbox 2023 Batch J I did come home with quite a few of this newly recoloured Ford Mustang Mach-E. It's probably its ultra contemporary pale grey colour which helped seal the deal and one which certainly flatters this casting.

Found at The Entertainer who are now by quite some margin offering much newer mixes than elsewhere, most STILL on Case D!
